The ticker: go to www.tickerfactory.com

Design the ticker you want then copy the code in the box under it when you are finished.

Come back here, go to Quick Links, Edit signature, paste the code in there and you'll have a ticker.

I just did my first week of soft/mushie foods last week. I didn't gain but my weight loss slowed significantly. The prior week I lost 8 pounds, this past week only 2.

And by the way.. Hershey's kisses?? *smacks your hand* Stop that. You just underwent surgery to help you. Now get smart and stop going for the same things that brought you to this point. *tsk tsk*

so how much did you lose from surgery to your first appointment with him after being banded? so now do they think you will lose before your first fill which is when?

My surgeon doesn't schedule a fill based on dates. He takes into consideration my weight loss, my hunger, the amount I can eat, etc. I have set my sights on 2 pounds a week (8 pounds/moth average). Anything over that will be a bonus.

so he never tells you if you will have a fill or not? why have the band then? the doctor here who has done over 1800 schedules them 4 weeks after first appointment then another one about 6 weeks later

Click in the bbCode box (on the last page of making the ticker) then hit Cntrl + a (for select all), then Cntrl + c (for copy) then paste it in your signature here. Youre either getting the wrong one, or not all of it.

Anyway, I would rather have my doc tailor my fill schedule to the needs of my body rather than run me thru like one of the sheep in the flock. I get free fills for a year and will see him once a month. He will watch my weight and check my food journals to see how I'm progressing. If I -need- a fill I will have one. I won't be scheduled just because its week four or whatever.

I would think then your doctor will fill you when? when you aren't losing? what type of diet does he keep you on? I know dr. jay will not fill if you gain 10 lbs, have to show the dedication and follow his strict path.

Hm.. on the ticker, go back to your signature and delete the extra parts that are showing up in your signature then you should be fine. I have to do that as well, not sure why. That code is for PhP bulletin boards, which this is.. so.. *shrugs*

My doc said if I stop losing (and Im not drinking milkshakes or eating cookie dough) or am able to eat too much at one time (more than a cup) then its time for a fill. I'll be eating 1,200 calories of low fat, low sugar foods once I'm at the six weeks mark. I'm still on 800 calories a day, eating mushies and soft foods. I see no reason to need a fill yet. If I can't control myself to stay at 800 a day for a couple of weeks, I'm probably looking at long term problems (slow weight loss). So far so good though.

I have Dr. Jayaseelan too. I just got my first fill yesterday and it was because I was able to eat more than a handful of food and I felt regular hunger. The fills are by the bodies need, not the calander. I think that makes sense.

I have found that if I do not tell myself "you cannot have this at all" (like bread) I do much better. This is why I see the band as an "internal policeman". However, I also won't say - you can't have a chocolate kiss. I eat the kiss and know that I normally would have had a whole candy bar. It is a special treat just like an occasional jolly rancher which keeps me from wanting to try bigger and worse items.

I don't feel hungry after my fill yesterday - but I am having to "go to the bathroom" a lot again. That isn't fun.

when were you banded? had you lost weight from when you had surgery to the first fill? I was banded 2 weeks ago and am going in tomorrow for my 2 week appointment; i'm starving, eating soft foods constantly; i want to move on past soft foods; Oh i can easily eat more than a handful of food, i've eaten a 3 egg omelete and cottage cheese in one sitting with no problem

:nervous I was banded 12/21/05. I lost 7 pounds the week prior to my surgery and have lost 11-12 pounds more since then. I always felt hungry but couldn't eat because I felt nautious when I did. Eventually (about 1 week ago) I realized I could eat a lot more than before and had gained about 2-3 pounds back since going on solids.

My Physician's Assistant to Dr. Jay said it was time for a fill if this was true. I had my first fill yesterday and I do not feel hungry today. I think this is normal and is the way it should work. It means "WEIGHT LOSS" :clap2:

Hope this helps. HOw much have you lost?

My fill didn't hurt at all. Just laid down, lifted up my shirt, she stuck me and it was like a regular shot. When she injected the solution I could feel it fill my stomach and tighten in my esophagus. Not a hurt - just wierd. Drank two barium sips to check all was good, got up and had to stay in the waiting room for 15 min. or so sipping Water to make sure all was a-okay. NO big deal at all. Feel fine today. Grumbling tummy, but don't feel like eating. I suppose that means everything is working.

Welcome to LBT, Txkrause! I may have to give in & get myself a ticker now, lol.

Also, while you're shopping around, one of the folks here posted a GREAT site (imho). And someone else suggested using Beneprotein to make any meal / drink into a Protein one!

http://store.bariatriceating.com/

http://www.resource.walgreens.com/search/search_results.jsp?_dyncharset=ASCII&term=Beneprotein&section=A&%2Fsearch%2Fsearchbase%2FSearchOptions.resultsperPage=5&_D%3A%2Fsearch%2Fsearchbase%2FSearchOptions.resultsperPage=+&_DARGS=%2Fcommon%2Fnavigation%2Fheader_fg.jsp.1&x=0&y=0

Sorry that link is so ugly, but Walgreen's is the only place I've found it so far.

Good luck! I'm dreading the starving part myself. (2 weeks until surgery, woot!!)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
