Hi all

I had was banded on 5/23 and am wondering how long should I wait before I remove the bandages? and I don't mean the steri strips, i mean the rather large bandages covering the strips. I saw my surgeon the day after surgery but that was something that totally slipped my mind. So how long did each of you wait before you removed em? Or did you let em fall off on their own?

I would call your doc's office in the morning and ask. They will probably have you talk to one of the nurses, they should know what to do. I would leave them on until then.

Thanks for the advice. Wil call my surgeons office in the morning.

@NjGirl- I'm feeling really good! I've been taking the cream of chicken Soup but not eating the chicken pieces because the broth is doing nothing for me. Down 15lbs since last week so I'm wonderful. How about u? Any pain? Gas? Getting in enough Protein? I'm not. Lol good luck to u.

@ sweetpea.. hmm interesting.

I only had steri strips...all but the ones on my largest incision came off on their own. That one was taken off by my surgeon at my 2 week post op appointment.

Not much pain -trying work tomorrow. I do have a sore throat sometimes-really tight-wondering if it's GERD or Acid reflux. No, not enough proteins! lol It's so hard to get them in at this stage! I am down 14 (counting pre-op diet). Let me know what he says about the bandages :)

i was told to remove the bandages the next day. i kept them on an extra day for good measure lol. I was also told to let the steri strips fall off on their own, and if they were still there at day 10 to remove them myself which i did today.

Good luck!

My doctor told me to remove the bandages the next day and to clean and put new bandages on once a day.

Every doctor is different, but in my experience under the bandages would have been so nasty if not changed for a few days.

I was banded on May 18th. My doctor told me to take the larger bandages off the next day and to allow the steri-strips to come off on their own.He then said if they hadn't come off at the 2 week mark, to remove them.

Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
