Extreme Gas in Morning!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on May 6th. Over the past week, I have woken up every morning due to extreme gas. I seem to only have this in the morning and taking Gas X before bed doesn't seem to help. Has anyone else experienced this lovely side effect? Do you know how I can prevent this or what may be causing so much gas? I am still on my full liquid diet and have not cheated at all.:(

I was banded on the 10th and let me tell you, the gas is the worst!!! Yesterday I started having sharp pains in my upper left abdomen which I know is gas, but dang it hurts!! I was up every hr last night bcuz of the pain. I burp a lot too!! I've been taking the gas x strips not realizing that the chewables are way stronger!! So try those if your not already. I think what makes the gas worse is if we are eating to fast and/or we are not exercising everyday..these are a must to prevent and get rid of gas!! WALK WALK WALK!!! Also stretching might help move the gas out too! Good luck and hope you feel better soon!!

I have been banded for a little over 2 months... I still burp after eating... thats probably from eatting too fast... But I have gas every morning or when I lay down... I dont know why but its when every I lay down that it builds up... its not smelly or anything like that but I can give my husband a run for his money on how loud it is!! lol I know that is probably more than you want to know... I think its hilarious but I just assume its just trapped air...B)

I'm having the same problem. I was just banded yesterday am. I couldn't hardly sleep last night for the gas pains. I finally got up and sat on the couch to sleep. I can't seem to get it to move down at all. Any suggestions

Mandy I was banded yesterday also. I have a lot of gas and I am belching it out. But, if I lay still too long it builds up and won't come out. Driving home from the center yesterday I had to make my husband stop and let me walk around a parking lot because it was so bad. I am getting rid of it by walking which makes me belch.

Hope you are feeling better.

I was banded on 5/23 and still get lots of gas. I find the hot water bottle helps a lot. My surgeon also prescribed prevacid that dissolves in Water. Let's see if that helps.

I was banded in mid April and still have way more gas than I used to. Maybe all the high Protein foods I'm eating? Anyway... I'm just learning to live with it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
