Considering an un-fill

Recommended Posts

I had taken Advil 2x before without any problems. But as they say there is always a first time. Ibuprofen is known to swell up the stomach. Perhaps because I already had a 5cc fill the opening was small to begin with and by taking advil my stomach swelled up too much and closed the opening. My doctor said that most people with the band have the same problem if they have enough of a fill that the opening is rather small.

Personally I wouldn't take the chance. If one in a million I can avoid going through the pain, I would much rather just take another pain medication.

[sic]Really, you can live without the foods that are causing a problem...but you can't go on with the PB'ing without causing potentiallly serious damage. It's all about choices. Not easy ones btw, but choices nonetheless. In my case, I can eat everything I want to eat and not lose very much or very fast, or I can lose weight and accept that there are a few things I just can't eat.

I am very aware of this. I guess you missed that I was PB'ing even after my "perfect" fill. This is what I call the adjustment phase. Finding out what you can and cannot eat. I am now finding out that I cannot eat certain foods just as you have discovered. It's all a learning experience.

My fear and reason for posting was I couldn't keep Soup or Water down for a few days there when I was really restricted. Fortunatley, the strong restriction has gone away and I am not PB'ing as much because I am avoiding foods like nuts and bread. salad and chicken are going down for me. Yea!

Mary and Alicia -

So glad your restriction problems seem to be resolved. Good for you, Mary, on getting medical help and keeping your head - that must have been very scary. Alicia, hopefully your list of untolerated foods won't be too long.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
