Types of Protein Drinks

Recommended Posts

Is anyone out there allergic to milk? I have been drinking the whey Protein Drinks and they upset my stomach and make me very gassy. Is it because of the whey? Is there another drink out there that tastes good? I am having surgery on 6/6 and am trying to get prepared for my 10 day preop diet. Thanks for any suggestions.

muscle milk light is pretty good and doesn't contain any milk.

But isn't "whey" milk based?

Muscle Milk Light is not Whey. It is a Protein based substitute for a meal, or as a snack.< /p>

Go to ebay and type in Muscle Milk, and the light will come up"that's what you want.

In the white jugs that they sell, you will find a seller that sells a jug for $5.99. THAT'S CHEAP !

She sells strawberry Milkshake flavor, and sometimes has other flavors. It's a good deal.

Order yourself a jug for that price, and try it. For that price you can't go wrong.

Just look for the $5.99 price, and you can't miss it.

Good Luck, Shirley

I have used Muscle Milk Light and Isopure from GNC (not the fruit flavors) mixed with either Soy Milk or Almond Milk...neither of them are whey based (they are lactose free) which should help with your stomach issues...

If it is lactose that bothers you, then the ready to drink Oh Yeah is wonderful. I am majorly dairy/lactose intolerant with the bloating, pain and gas and have no problems with the Oh yeah. I make my own yogurt from Lactaid milk.

Good luck,

Mimi

If you are Lactose Intolerant? As I am. The Muscle Milk Light powder form that I wrote you about on ebay is what I drink.

I can't stomach Milk at all.

Give it a shot.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
