Not having fun with my first fill

Recommended Posts

I have to say that I have been very uncomfortable with my first fill. I have a lump in my throat that wont go away. It feels like a snot ball. So I called the office and they said liquids for two days and see how I feel on friday. I might need to go in on Friday and have some taken out. So frustrated. They just make it seem like everything is so easy breezy and all I read about it problems people have. :(

Did the dr have you drink anything in the office? Mine got stuck on Water and he had to take out .5 cc. Since then I really have to slow down and chew a lot, otherwise everything but liquids get stuck.

Yes I drank some Water and it was fine felt normal. It wasnt until later that evening that it started bothering me.

I, too, have that strange throat ball thing....and then give a little burp...the PA backs off a tiny bit from there and then I am fine...it sounds like you need a very very tiny adjustment. You are wise to not "tough it out".

I am by far not on my first fill, surgery in 2003, but I am having the same symptoms this time around. I can only eat about every three days as it seems once I eat I get that lump in my throat feeling and sometimes can't even drink anything. Others have suggested drinking a hot liquid to help with any swelling, especially if you throw up any but even that doesn't help. I think I am in the same boat and am going to have to go back and get some Fluid taken out.

Surgery 4/2003

Starting weight 407lbs

Dec. 2006 - 160lbs (pre baby)

after baby - 272lbs

Current weight 206lbs

46 lbs. to go

I am going in tomorrow to see what they say. I am going to push for them to take some out. Maybe just a tad and go from there.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
