Good evening everyone!

I'm new to the forum, and was banded on May 6th. Already I'm realizing that this is harder than I thought it would be, but I'm willing to do what it takes in order to make it successful. I'm looking forward to working with you, and am open to any suggestions that anyone has in order to help the process along.

This is a difficult thing however the benefits out weigh the struggle. I had a horrible first ten days. But I am loving the new me. I feel better about myself. You will wonder if you made the right decision during the first day but when you start to see the weight coming off you will be like why.didn't I do.this.sooner. this is not.something you take softly. You give it your all and you will love the results.

Welcome to the forum. I agree this is not a walk in the park!

My surgery is in 2 days. I don't want to think about it too much because I freak out easily. Congrats!!! You got banded on my oldest 5 year old daughter's bday. The beginning of a new life. I'm expecting the worse and hoping for the better. Good luck on your journey. Keep us posted on ur progress.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
