Go for it. Only you can decide if it ills worth it. I had 50 to 60 pounds to lose and I did it and don't regret that decision one bit. It has been hard and it has had it's ups and downs but it is worth every penny I spent (self pay). I now have so many more options to keep myself healthy. The band reminds me everyday that it controls my eating which is what I needed. Good luck to you!

I want to lose 85 lbs and it will be worth it for me. I'm down 29 since starting preop and having surgery last month. I have had no major problems and can actually cross my legs today! I know that sounds stupid to be happy about something like that but I unconsciously crossed my leg today and said to myself "wow I've been to fat to cross my legs for almost two years and now I just did it! My face is looking skinnier and I am not feeling porky. I still have a ways to go but 50 lbs would be worth it as I felt bad physically, Was depressed and looked horrible. Already I feel better!

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this blog and am almost 24 hours post op (LapBand). I only have about 60 lbs to loose and had thought long and hard about this step. I had tried multiple ways to loose weight after putting on over 50 lbs when I became sick a few years back. Before this point I had been a healthy adult most of my life. I do not regret it because I know I had put forth tremendous effort beforehand and had thought a long time about it. In the end, it's a personal decision you should make with your immediate family. Good Luck whatever you decide.

Hi - I just got mine yesterday to lose 50-60. It's worth it. Those with higher amounts to lose will get to the 50 more to lose mark and will want to lose those 50 pounds because they will see they are still not where they want to be. I am self-pay also but will say for sure it is worth it! Good luck ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
