YEAH!!! FINALLY my first fill

Recommended Posts

My surgery was on Dec. 27th. I just had my first fill this morning. I've stayed at the same weight for the past 4 weeks..... and SO glad I finally got the fill. I've been nervously looking forward to today for the past 3 weeks. I got 2 1/2 CC's . My dr. has me on Clear Liquids for two weeks. I hope I won't be feeling any hunger.... Being on clear liquids for so long sorta scares me.... If nothing else, it will definitely jump start me into losing again. I was very nervous that it was going to hurt.... I'm soooooooooo glad it didn't!!! laugh.gif Much easier than I expected. Yeah!!! back into losing again!!!! (I was really getting frustrated!)

Yay! Glad to know that you're happy and got your first fill. I was scared that it would hurt too...I don't like needles! Good luck and keep us posted on your weight loss :)

I dont get the whole two week Clear Liquids unless you have issues eating most doctors only have you on clear liquids for three days at the most. I would double check with him again to make sure he said two weeks of clear liquids or did he mean upgrade over two weeks meaning 3 days of clear liquids, a few days of full liquids, a few days of pureed and then move up to a regular diet. I on the other hand have a very sensitive stomach when getting fills and cannot eat for three weeks or so but that is usually not the case with most.

I also don't understand the clear liquids for 2 weeks. Even pre-op clear liquids was just a week, and when I get a fill it's full liquids for the day only.

But hey, clear liquids will make you lose a ton of weight real fast! Just don't be confused and think the fill had anything to do with it as it will be due to eating nothing but Jello and broth! Good Luck! Not sure I could do the clears for that long !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
