What does restriction feel like?

Great minds think alike, I've been contiplating the chew/spit method too!

You would give your left boob for Mac and Cheese!?

C'mon Kim, you know that left boob IS mac and cheese! LOL

My swelling must have gone down some today. I ate - scratch that - I drank my usual meals today in less time than it normally takes, and I've been hungry for the first time since surgery. Still on liquids for a week and a half more. You know youre in agony when youre craving a green bean. That's right, just one, doesn't have to be hot, don't need butter.. just a bean.. please?? *drools*

Hey Sus-

Spit/Chew Method is good... although you'll REALLY want to swallow!

LOL on the boob - you're right - it is :-).

Hey - me too on the swelling! Life is good... I'm feeling sooooo much better. Only a week and a half to go for you! I'm jealous! I have to go to Cancun for work and I'm going to have to bring along a freakin blender! Better yet, I'll just stick to Margaritas.

I know you are joking about the margaritas, but I had a small glass of wine at a christmas party and OH MY did I get a major buzz. Alcohol I think I might give up forever. I was afraid to walk across the room in my heels cause I felt like I was going to stagger....I didn't even drink the whole glass.

On the protien shakes...I'm thinking the first couple of weeks after surgery I was drinking like just a couple of oz at time, but like every 2 hours. I don't think I would have EVER been able to drink a whole shake. Get a cute shot glass to drink it out of.

Good luck and Congrats on your surgeries.

Melissa

No whining! I would rather be poked with needles in the eyes and have my fingernails pulled out one by one than have to wear a bathing suit in front of people at work! UGH. And is it just like 1 or 2 people? Heck no - it's about 700 or so :omg: . I leave on the 2nd and return on the 8th. You think anyone would notice if I wore nothing but jeans to the beach? Although I gotta tell ya - I look pretty darn cute in my black bathing suit with the big ole skirt - LOL.

 Margaritas will make it all ok :-). Kidding! Melissa - think anyone would think it was wierd if I wore jeans in the ocean and drank margaritas out of a shotglass? LOL Kidding - it's an idea!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
