Just wondering if any of you have any setbacks so far, where you are with weight-loss, and how your excercise is coming along? And anything else you'd like to share :)

It's been 5 months since I had my surgery, and I'm down 31lbs. I thought it'd be more at this point, but I had a "setback" in Feburary, and had to have my port replaced. It flipped, and when they went to stitch it back the surgeon seen where 2 of the little hooks never deployed so they just switched it for a whole new port. A couple of weeks ago I got a "catch-up" fill and since then I have noticed the weight starting to come off a little more. Plus I walk/jog on the treadmill for 20 mins 3 times a week, I want to work up to 45 mins 5 times a week.... but baby steps are fine with me :) I would love to try P90X, but I'm so afraid to do any kind of ab or core workout, I really don't want to flip my port again. My insurance runs out in 4 months and I hope to either have some money saved up, or a job to help pay for the fills. I really don't want to have to stop in the middle of my journey!

That's quite a story. glad you are getting back on track and I wish you the best of luck getting help with your fills when your current insurance runs out. I have the same fear about doing core workouts. Even though I'm almost 2 months out now I still feel the need to stay away from working out my abdomen. I'm currently at a plateau. Going on 3 weeks now I've been at 29-30lbs lost. I need a fill but can't get in until the middle of next month. I've been having a hard time with head hunger and with all the candy around right now for Easter it's making it even harder. I'll be glad when I can get rid of all this junk that is taunting me and get another fill to help me get back on track.

Oh I know!! That's the worst! You want to eat, because you're just use to eating when you get bored or when everyone else eats. But, when you get filled, you just can't. But, that's good too :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
