I have a huge 'to do' list after I lose 100+ lbs. To name a few: Lauren, Marisa, Sarah, Angie, Katie. It is going to be a great fall!

I took a motorcycle safety class to learn to ride. I don't have a bike, but it was always something I wanted to do. Also, you might get an insurance discount for taking the class.

Good luck!

One thing on my skinny bucket list is doing a zipline course. Not sure where, but it really looks fun :)

Good luck!

Ditto, ditto, ditto.....and wear dresses and skirts without shorts or spanks underneath!!!! I would also love to RUN in a 5K instead of WALK which I have been doing for the past 8 years.

This is a great topic! It's so motivivational that I think I'm going to print mine out and put it in a few spots in the house, like the refrigerator and in the dining room. biggrin.png

I'm still in my 3 month pre-op nutrition phase and I've been thinking about one or two things I want to do, but once I sat down and started writing I couldn't stop. Once I have the surgery I'm sure I'll have more to add to this growing list. smile.png

My Skinny Bucket List

1. Have my husband finally be able to pick me up and hold me in his arms- he's a big strong guy, so the fact that he can't now, or ever before, makes me so sad. It will be a crying-because-I'm-happy day! wub.png

2. Play with my little boys and not have to say "Sorry guys, I have to stop - Mommy's out of breath and tired. I gotta take a rest."

3 . Cross my legs when I sit and feel sexy, not sit like a man

4. Go horseback riding and not feel like the horse is going to crumple under me.

5. Buy my first ever Little Black Dress

6. Wear high heels with the LBD and not feel ridiculous or look like I'm going to topple forward

7. Buy sexy lingerie and feel sexy in it.

8. Get my very first bikini wax and leg wax to go with the above-mentioned lingerie. Ouch - not looking forward to the pain, but definitely looking forward to the rewards. biggrin.png

9. Go to Hawaii and lay on the beach, not feeling embarrassed like the first 2 times. And wear a real swimsuit.

10. Ride a bike - something I haven't done as an adult yet.

11. Take a Zumba class and make it more than 5 minutes (if I'm LUCKY!) before I feel like I'm going to die! blink.png

12. Run, not just walk, run run run!

13. Yoga or Pilates and enjoy it and feel like I belong, not like the fat girl's trying something new.

14. I saw this on someone else's list and I totally am going to use it - it almost made me cry thinking of this feeling! I want to be able to eat a (small) ice cream cone while taking a walk and not feel like everyone's rolling their eyes at the big fat mamma feeding her face again.

15. Sit in a chair (especially folding chairs) and not have 1/2 my butt hanging off the edges and worry about who's behind me and what it looks like.

16. Be able to walk thru a restaurant or auditorium or someplace with lots of chairs and not have to stop and survey the room to determine the best (or only) path I can take to get where I am going. Or have to back track when following my husband or someone else after they've lead me down a path that I can't fit thru. Or say "excuse me" to every other person because I'm bumping them in the head with my butt, tummy, or hips. ohmy.png

17. Go dancing - Salsa, two-step, swing, etc.

18. Pick out clothes at the mall based on if I like them or not, not based on if they happen to carry it my size.

19. Play softball again.

Great Idea! I just love this post and I've gotten some super ideas' date=' too! Here's my list:

The biggies:

1. Ride my horse more, and be able to get on without a mounting block.

2. Zip lining with my sister in Costa Rica.

3. Scuba diving - or at least snorkeling

4. Tropical vacation or cruise with DH.

Every day pleasures:

5. Shopping at the mall - and finding clothes that fit.

6. Fitting in a theater/plane seat

7. Being able to squat - and get back up[/quote']

Ahhhh the mounting block is my biggest friend, I'm short so I can't get on without one, but I used to be able to get on with just a leg up from a friend. That would be nice. I'd like to not feel bad for my horse! Although he doesn't complain!

2) zip line through the Amazon

3) climb the Duomo in florence, and other great bell towers throughout Europe

4) participate in a triathlon

5) buy some True Religion jeans :)

I'm sure I'll think of other things as I get closer to goal!!

Oh man... my list would be too long to imagine, but here are a few things (some of these are mentioned by others earlier in the thread, but what the hell...)

1. Bikini! I so want to wear a bikini... and look good in one. I technically COULD wear one now, but I would look like Jabba the Hut on vacation.

2. Short shorts. I am so envious of girls in the summer wearing flip flops and short shorts...

3. Knee high boots. I have thunder calves and no boots will fit me. And I LOVE boots.

4. I want to be IN the picture, not always trying to be the photographer... or if I must be in the picture, hiding in the back.

5. I want to stop demanding to see every picture right after it was taken, going EWW and forcing people to delete the picture. I even get irritated when people shorter than me try to take my picture, because I know that through sheer laws of physics... the picture will not be taken from the convenient fat girl angle (you know you know the one)

6. I want to be able to travel and feel comfortable and look good... and take vacation pictures that I am in. I would have a hard time proving I have been anywhere as it stands now, since I am never ever in any of the pictures.

7. Enjoy hiking... no huffing and puffing and profuse sweating and praying for death on the way...

8. Be able to shop anywhere and find clothes that fit. I hate being ousted to plus size sections of one or two stores in an entire mall...

9. Get attention! I hate feeling like I am invisible. I swear that it's not just men too, women are more attentive to thinner women as well (like in stores, etc)

10. Not feel irritated and angry whenever I try to dress up. Every party or special even starts off like that, with me mad at the world...

11. Not have to get up early the day after a big night out to nervously sit by Facebook to untag myself in all the pictures!

12. I want to wear something form fitting. No more empire waists, please!

13. I want to be able to run without more things jiggling than should be jiggling

14. I want to wear sky high hooker heels without having to have my feet amputated 30 minutes later

15. I want to feel less self conscious about myself...

16. I want to find jeans that fit me! If they fit my butt, I can't button them. If I can button them, I could fit an entire Bosnian family into the rest of them with me. Ugh. Stupid mafioso gut.

17. I want to feel sexy and attractive

18. I have never required a seatbelt extention but I am really self conscious about sitting on planes and busses because I take up so much space, I feel like I bleed into the seat next to me and I always feel bad for the stranger sitting there when I walk up to take the seat next to them.

19. I want to be able to paint my toenails without effort.

20. I want to not snore anymore! lol

Alright... enough for now...

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
