Insurance and "low" BMI

I spoke with a surgeon in my area about having the surgery with a BMI of 30, they said they didn't think it would be a problem to get insurance to pay for my surgery since I have sleep apnea but I am not so certain. I am not hopeful that they will approve it but I am going to give it a shot anyway. Anyone else had any experience with the new "low" BMI requirements and insurance?
