there is a side of me coming out that I never expected.......being VAIN! Lol

I like it! It's bad and it's wrong but after 20 years of being fat I finally feel and think I look pretty. Part of it is the self confidence I have now, before band I looked my part, hair always in a pony tail dumpy clothes, no make up.

After band once a week trips to the nail salon, I pay more than 20 bucks for a haircut, make up is always in place, and clothes!!!!! Oh the wonderful clothes I can wear now!!!!

Now even though I love being me, I don't dare say or think I am better than anyone else! But in my head I love, love, love being me now!

Anyone else ever catch a glimse of yourself in the mirror and think........DAMN! Lol

I am right there with you jen. I have been this size before but I definitely have more attitude this time around! And I have been buying $100 designer jeans like crazy! No more ponytails for me, I have been straightening my hair and wearing it down. I think after all we have been through and all the hard work it is okay for us to be this way. :)

I thinks being this way has really helped with my eating habits also.

I know those nice jeans or top I just bought are going to look way better on me than a hamburger would! Lol

I admit that I see myself in the mirror (I still se emyself at my highest weight and not so much 25 pounds less) and think to myself that I'll be pretty damn hot if I'm ever skinny. I've never known myself SMALL, but I think other than being fat I'm kinda pretty. Or could be.

Anyway since I made the decision to do the band I admit I've been wearing more makeup, doing fun things with my hair. I've never had long hair and am growing it out so am doing fun new things with it.

I'll never think of myself as better than anyone, of course, and i see beauty in all people (one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen was maybe 85 and all wrinkly)...but I can't wait to see myself small with a thin face.

Oh my gosh, yes.

I spend way more time on my appearance than I ever did before. I put makeup on fairly regularly now and I have a closet full of really nice clothes. I worry much more now about having "fat days" than I did when I was 100 lbs more than I am now. It's bizarre :)

You deserve it! We all deserve to be a little vain after all we've been through. For so long I've felt old, ugly, fat, and HOPELESS. Now I am looking in the mirror and seeing the young beautiful me and I feel fantastic. Can't help but be excited about it.

Oh yes. I'm very fussy. I always was to a degree, but my nails are always done, every 2 weeks, I pay over $200 for a haircut and colour (and that's nothing extraordinary in Australia, just what it costs at a good salon) no way in hell would I visit a second rate salon. I will never let my skin be seen in its ordinary pasty white freckly state, I am meticulously fake tanned, lol. I get pedicures.

Ironically I wear very little make up now - I dont need it if I keep my tan up and with my hair properly coloured - I think obvious make up is ugly and fake looking, cant stand it. But I used to wear more than I do in an effort to feel better. I am really into my running, and I prefer that fit, natural look, but it sure takes a lot of time and money to get it, lol. It doesnt come naturally that's for sure.

I spend way too much money on clothes and I have a real fetish for super expensive athletic wear. I went wild in Lululemon just the other day!

I can feel you all! I, also, never leave the house without makeup, and like to look well dressed. Unfortunatly, I have a new addiction, and my closet is showing it! But, I think my husband loves to help me shop, now. My daughter-in-law wanted to go shopping for an Easter dress, and my son didn't feel like it. He said, "Mom, would you go with her?" My husband piped in and told him, that he needed to go himself, as my husband takes me to consult! We, in fact, are going out this afternoon to shop.

Gotta love it!

i was totally excited when i started losing weight... now, i scare myself sometimes.

i'm smaller now than i've ever been... even in high school. i recently bought dress pants in a size 6 and that's NEVER happened. the other day i put a pair on and they were loose. i don't know why but the thought of wearing a size 4 or smaller terrifies me! i wear a small top now too... if i lose more weight, what size will i fit in to???

i've become a shopaholic too... thankfully i'm single and have no kids because Kohl's is my best friend. every spring and fall for the past 3 years i've had to buy entire new wardrobes... including shoes!

It's only week 1 for me and I'm now down 14.5 lbs. I put my jeans on and they aren't busting at the seams! It feels great!!! I can't wait to see what the future holds. I would like to get back into a 10 and I would be happy and satisfied. I'm an 18 now. I know before when I lost, it really puts you in a whole other mind frame. It's a totally different world. Be happy and vein but don't let it change what's in your heart or how you treat others. I can't even imagine being a size in the single digits! wow!

Vain? No. Suddenly liking shopping for clothes? YES!!! I used to hate shopping, buying whatever fit, whether I liked it or not. Now, though, I actually see if something looks nice (to me) before buying it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
