Stopped Losing Weight

Recommended Posts

I have stopped losing weight for the last 5 weeks. I had my surgery in October and have lost 35 lbs. My goal is to lose 70 total. I am having trouble eating a lot of foods - especially chicken and eggs. I had to have some of my last fill taken out. I don't seem to be satisfied after eating 1/2 cup of food and when I eat, I get a pain in the pit of my stomach. I also throw up a lot.

Any suggetions?

Sounds like you're still too tight. I eat a cup of food, if not more, at a time; 1/2 cup isn't a magical amount or anything.

It sounds like you may be too tight if you are throwing up a lot. I agree with reverie in saying 1/2 cup isn't the magical amount. I can eat more then a 1/2 cup some days and sometimes I can just eat a very small amount. It can vary from day to day, but I'm still losing weight. You just have to make better food choices and talk to your doctor about all of it. That's what they are there for.

It is amazing we are almost exactly at the same point. I had my surgery on October 18. I have lost about 25 pounds since my surgery. I know my problem is I'm unable to quit snacking. I was told to bump up the intensity of my exercise with weights and re-examine my eating habits. I did better today. I unfortunately don't have problems with eating - I am tending to eat too much, then expeirence pain. Are you able to eat tuna (some suggest adding low fat mayo, but I just eat it plain - 80 calories for 2 ozs). Other foods are talipia, Beans, low fat cheese, lean brisket, or lentils.

Hey.... I know how you feel... I had my surgery sept. 13 since then I have lost 43 pound and the last month I have not lost anything... but it was because my band was not tight enough and I started eating what I wanted instead of what I was suppose to... So I went thursday got my band adjusted and went grocery shopping and now I am going to do better.... As far as the eggs... I don't do good with them unless they are just boiled eggs... chicken well I just have to cut it up better and chew a lot more... I hope this helps...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
