Congratulations Kim, fortunately, I didn't have the "tummy gas" problems, only pain in my upper left shoulder. Sounds like you're doing really well, keep up the good healing. Take care of yourself and don't overdo it.

Kim! How did you get that pic of me? If you post it, I'll sue! Oh, wait.. that's you? Are you my twin? LOL

Great news! The Milk of Magnesia worked.. *relief*

You know whats weird? I know full well that this is going to take some time, but every time I walk into the bathroom and see how awful I look, I get this fleeting thought of... $26,000 for THAT??

God, grant me patience.. and I want it NOW!

Oh, one more thing.. I have a refill on my brown bottle! *huggles her bottle*

Kim, I did want to mention to you about the itching.....when your incisions start to heal.....Joy says that her are starting to itch on the inside, where she can't reach them with her nails. Just about to drive her cwazy...! (where did susan put that little brown bottle)

Susan - I'll give you $26,000 for your refill on that brown bottle :-). I know - I thought the same thing when I looked in the mirror (and took that picture of you)... all that money for this? My stomach is bigger than when I started. I used to have nice soft squishy stomach - now it resembles a 9 1/2 month pregnancy and is hard as a rock! This isn't what I was thinking for rock hard abs. I am down a couple lbs tho - so progress! I'm about to wake sleeping beauty (DH) up and send him out for that Milk of Magnesia!

Kim - Sold!! *sticks her tongue out at Randy* Kim knows how to get my bottle.

I'm down 2 1/2 lbs down from surgery day, but looking oddly shaped. I had a hernia repair done at the same time, so I was used to seeing a large protrusion just over my belly button. Now I'm just strange.

*sighs* I want to move! Im sick of sleeping on my back, sick of moving slowly, I want to go outside and walk and breathe again! This must be a good sign. Yes? How are you doing Kim? Are you doing crunches yet? *grins*

Susan - Yee haw - more hydrocodone! :bounce:

Crunches? Oh yes, just did 3 reps of 100 on the ab lounger. Oh wait - I sold my ab lounger in a garage sale two years ago! :-) I did really just go for a walk down the street and back and even walked semi-not-turtle-like. You know I have to wait till dark to go walk though - I made a spectacle of myself that first night and figured best to stick to darkness for the walks for now. Yes, I'm ready to get off my back! I'm a stomach sleeper and hate this!

Ok, so I tried baby food tonight - there's a reason babies can't talk I think. I choked about 1/2 of it down but am so full all the time I can hardly eat. I'm doing good to get in 400 calories a day (and that's making myself eat when I don't feel like it). Trying mainly to get Protein in with shakes - not doing so good. Ok, like I really can't believe I'm complaining about not being able to eat - what am I thinking???? :-)

COngratulations on your banding! please know that the pain from gas are not relieved too well from the liquid pain meds the doc ordered.....due to the fact it is very constipating, relaxing the bowels and trapping gas......i had a sharp opain in my lower left area of my belly for 3 weeks and was on my 3rd refill of liq hydrocodone........causing more pain in the 3rd week til the pharmacist told me I was only making it worse by trying to get rid of the gas pain taking this med. so he gave me an over the counter magnesium drink that cleaned me out like you wouldnt believe and the next day my 3 weeks of gas and pain were gone!! hope this made sense! GAs ex does work too and as much movement as you can tolerate! Good Luck

Nikki - thanks for the advice. I'll lay off the pain meds and see if that helps! Gas X isn't doing the trick so far.... but I'm game for anything right now... I appreciate the help.

Kim

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
