Hi all... I'M BAAACKK

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say hello! I've got to read the forum to catch up with everyone.

My mom survived her horrible medical ordeal...she is now in rehab and should be home some day next week.

I got a fill last week and I am only mildly more restricted than I was pre-fill. Hey, did anyone else get a "novacaine" type needle before the fill needle? For some reason I was expecting that and was pretty surprised when that was not the case. lol

It is great to be back!

Hugs,

JPT

Welcome back!

So glad to hear your mom is doing well and going to be going home!! It's been pretty quiet around here...we need to liven things up :) Still waiting on a fill here...will be waiting until the last week of April :( My dr. waits 9 weeks before the first one. I'm not hungry all the time I can just eat probably more than I should. Still maintaining at my 20lbs :(

Well glad your back and hope your fill is helpful!!

Hey JPT,

I am glad to hear your mom is okay. That is always scary!

As for the fill, I got one last week, and am feeling much more restricted than I was before, but I hear that is different for everyone. However, I did get a shot of lidocaine before my fill. I was super happy about that, LOL, as I was quite sore from overextending myself. I hope it was okay for you!

Welcome back! :)

I'm so glad that your mom is all right and on the mend. (((HUGS)))

I'm so glad that you are doing well -- you have lost a lot of weight! On fills, I haven't had one yet (first one is later this week -- my doctor likes to wait at least 6 weeks before the first fill...and since his office is always booked, it would probably be another 6 weeks before I can get in for a second fill...but that's all right -- I'm less restricted than I was initially, but I still have some...I would just like a little more because my weight seems to be stuck at the moment), but I don't think my doctor numbs the site either...so I hope it isn't too terrible, and that whomever is doing my fill will find the port quickly.

Glad to hear your mom is on the mend!! Praying for a quick recovery and to be home before you know it!

I got a fill 4/1. I didn't have any numbing anything. I was thinking it was the norm to get it because so many of the people on here did that I read. So when she didn't I was a bit surprised. But it didn't hurt anyway so all was good.

I do have some restriction but will need more. I am enjoying what I have though. :P I have been cleared for working out!!! :D I have been chomping at the bit here waiting to start to work my Buns off! So far things are going really good and I am hoping to see the scale - a - mov'en!! I don't know how to change my ticker weight. I have been trying but it won't work. Not that I have lost much more but I am down some.

It's good do see you back!

Wendy

To change your ticker just click on the ticker (in any message where it is located), plug in your password and voila! you can adjust your weight. :)

Welcome back and thanks for sharing the great news about your mom, glad to hear she's on the mend. I once went to a skin doctor to have a blemish removed from my face. First he was looking at it under a magnifyer and then....slash it was gone. Guess he was from the "We Don't Need No Stinkin' Novacain" school of medicine too. But darn it that slash hurt like heck and I yelled some choice words at him, I even called him a quack. That seemed to have upset the poor dear and he went off in a sulk. Since then I make it clear to all doctors...no cutting wo/ anethestic. :) I don't think the novacain is really needed for the fill though but numb is better than sorry, did that hurt?

Y'know it wasn't that bad once he got the needle in the port but when he was digging it was kinda creepy. I got a low profile port and he said, "Oh, you got one of those baby ports." LOL So as he dug, I joked and said, "Well, you know I'm expecting a six pack when I lose the weight so I needed the low profile port." For him to find it I had to do a stomach crunch and then he felt around and found it. Again, a little creepy during the digging process...who knows if the anesthetic would help with that anyway.

I had a doctor take off a skin tag like that, too! Slash! :o LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
