First Fill today

Recommended Posts

Finally I am here and had my first fill this morning! I have no trouble with the unknown, and have a high tolerance for pain so I wasn't stressed over it. But for those of you who are, don't be! I didn't even feel them stick me! It was such a breeze.

I had 2 cc's left over from surgery and they added 2 more, for a total of 4cc's. They said that 9cc's is the fullest that they can go.

I will say that is nice to finally feel the swirly feeling of your beverage when you swallow it! I have had no restriction at all so I will take any at this point, no matter how small. Just to be moving forward is great!!

Hope everyone elsessexperience goes good too!

I had my 2nd fill yesterday, now I have a total of 2.6 cc. I only had one cc before but I actually did have some restriction. I am anxious to see how much more restricted I will be in the few weeks to come :)

It's awesome to start feeling the band working isn't it?

I just had my firstf fill on Wed. 3/30 and still feel no restriction. What is this swirly feeing you speak of?

I can gulp half a bottle of Water with no problem and can probably drink more, but don't want to test my band too much. I don't have to take small bites or chew my food more than normal. Shouldn't I expect to feel some restriction at this point? I feel like I can eat anything, but haven't tried EVERYTHING!

I alreay emailed my dr. to ask for more. I was told i have a 'standard' band and he only gave me 1 cc for my first fill.

Am I doing the right thing to ask for more?

I only got 1 cc with my first fill. My doctor will only fill about a cc at a time. I guess we all get to that restricted feeling at different times, but for me I've had the most control a few weeks after fill 1. I'm PMSing and 2nd fill is still new, so I will give it a few weeks to determine if I feel like I need more at my next appt :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
