My saving grace has been TEA. I know they say herbal to avoid dehydration from caffeine, but I do both. I drik lots and lots of hot tea w/ Splend & if not herbal fat free half and half. It helps me when i am hungry and it's not time to eat yet...keeps my mouth and stomach occupied, and my mind.

I was horrible and started soft foods really early, but things like sugar free Jello, smooth yogurts (which were actuall yon my liquid diet), Tomato Soup & chicken broth...light veggie/fruit juice (I found one by V8 that was really good)...sugar free popcicles...nonfat milk. For my soft diet I've been enjoying the liquid egg product that is made of egg whites. I make scrambles out of them and they are only 30 cal for 1/4 cup instead of 70-90 per entire egg, no cholesterol, etc. I mix in chopped onion, a serving of thin sliced deli ham chopped up, and a handful of fresh baby spinach till it's cooked down & tender. I've discovered greek yogurt which is way higher in Protein that regular yogurt and eat it with a bit of granola mixed in (let it sit for a few hours to get soggy?) I like the Chobani yogurt brand. The nonfat is even good, but I also do some 2%. also if pudding is on your liquid diet (it was mine) the sugar free ones aren't too shabby.

But above all, hot tea has been of huge comfort to me. Mentally & physically.

For sure you will need Protein shakes.

Go on ebay, and type in MUSCLE MILK, muscle milk light will also come up. That's what you want.

A lady that I buy my supplies from, has them at $5.99 a jug That is cheap !

She has 2 flavors. strawberry Milkshake, and Peanut Butter, chocolate Blend. There GOOD,

and you make them with Water. So pick up a shaker Bottle at a health food store or anyplace that sells Protein

products.

Good Luck, Shirley.

Thanks for the advice, I too love the greek yogurt. As for the muscle milk, is that a powdered Protein shake?

It comes both ways. But the one I am talking about is powder 2 scoopes/and Water.

That is very cheap for the price. Just look around.

My saving grace were my gas-x strips!!! I would stock up on those. Make sure you have your Protein ready and make sure you test a few just so you know you like it. My doctor had strict guidelines on what kind of Protein we could have (high in Fiber so that I didn't have to drink 2 a day, low in carbs) so muscle milk didn't work for me. I would check into that first before you buy anything. Also make sure you have your vitamins!!! Another thing that saved me because I was getting sick of Water, sugar free kool aid!!

Hope that helped and good luck!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
