not loosing weight... :(

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am new to this lap band site. I had the lap band on Jan 24 2011, and have not lost a lbs since feb 18.. I am down 21 lbs but sooo frustrated at this point. I have had one fill, and will be getting my next one tomorrow. Any suggestions to get the ball rolling again?

thanks smile.gif

I highly reccomend you start working out if your not already. It is key for weight loss. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. Also, be sure to get all your protien in, at least 60 gms. You also want at least 64 oz of fluids (caffinated doesn't count). I also ate very low carb and low fat while I was loosing. Lots of lean meat and non starchy veggies. Hope this helps and good luck.

Are you working out? Are you eating 1200 calories or less a day? If you don't know you have to record it in a food journal. It's not going to do that work for you :). It's very easy to overeat, or eat the wrong things and not lose weight and just break even.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
