Constant gurgling and diarrhea?

Recommended Posts

HI, I was banded on Wed., March 9. It is taking a little longer to feel better than I expected. I also have this constant gurgling in my stomach. I doesn't really hurt, it is just very annoying. I am also experiencing diarrhea which is less than joyful. I sure hope I feel better soon.

Gurgling and diarrhea and all normal after being banded. Keep in mind if you are on liquids, liquids in, liquids out. Hang on a little longer, it will get better as you heal from surgery. Hope you are feeling better soon!

This. Give yourself a little bit more time to feel better. Rest as much as you can. Feel better soon!

I am feeling better today. Funny thing.....I'm pretty sure the gurgling I feel is hunger pains. I can't wait until Tuesday so I can start my Protein Shakes. I'm really hungry.

The really noisy gut sounds will pass in a couple of weeks. However, I am still noisy on occasion... depending on what I eat and other circumstances. The diarrhea is due to the liquid diet... as you add mushies and then soft foods back to your diet things should get better in that department. Don't be surprised if you are gassier than usual and I can't say that gets any better with time. With all that said... I wouldn't change a thing... I would still chose to be banded. I love my band and the changes it has made in my life! Hang in there... it gets better every day!

I'm sure you're right. Your noisy stomach is probably your hunger. I'm experiencing that too. I was banded 3/7. I was real crampy and gassy a couple of days ago. I attributed it to having broth and a combination of drinking Crystal Lite. As, I had clear broth yesterday with no Crystal Lite and I had no gas. You will learn as you go along, what works and what doesn't. It's going to be real interesting to discover what to avoid when you put things down the hatch. I know it's early in the game, but I can say I have no regrets. Looking forward to my new lifestyle and healthier me.

Im so glad I finally typed in diarrhea, I was banded on 3/28 and have been scared to get to far from a bathroom since nice to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Linda, I found that I had to stop drinking the fruit juice mixed half with Water. This was causing the diarrhea.....duh! I should have known that. It just tasted so good. The diarrhea only lasted a few days. I hope you're better soon.

the diarreah is crazy i was banded on 7/11/11 it has been going on for 5 days. i'm glad to know it will pass. I thought it came from the pneumonia that i developed since surgery. But on the upswing of things I've went from 211(surgery date) to 203lbs

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
