Any Feb bandster gotten a fill yet?

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill yesterday! I had 1.6 cc in it to begin with - so he just put in .4cc to top it up to 2cc! Told me they go about this very conservatively and slowly - which I don't mind at all...this way I don't get any complications. I do feel that I get fuller a heck of a lot quicker and I don't get hungry so quickly which rocks my world!

Boy is it quiet around here!! I FINALLY got my first fill today! Funny I would consider my dr. very conservative but yet he told me I didn't have to do just liquids after my fill...I do notice a bit of a difference...will see how tomorrow goes. Wasn't painful just a little pokey. Will go back in another 6 weeks and he will add more...he does the first two in 1cc incriments and then goes down from there as needed. I already had 2cc's in there at placement so I now have 3cc's. What is everyone else at??

Hi Soph! I agree -- it's very quiet around here. I hope everybody is going okay! :)

I'm glad your first fill went well! My doctor sounds almost exactly like your doctor! I got my first fill a little quicker than you (about 7.5 weeks out from being banded) -- I had 2 cc's from installation and he added 1 cc -- for 3 cc's total. My second fill isn't until almost the end of May -- and I do think that I need a little more (he will add another 1 cc), because I am getting a little hungrier between meals...almost moreso than before the first fill. Weird?! It might be because I'm exercising more, but it's still kind of strange. LoL. How many calories a day are you eating? I'm doing pretty good sticking to 1200 a day with 65+ grams of Protein...now if I can only get DH to ditch the Ben & Jerrys! UGH!

Have a great day fellow bandsters! :D

The posting string on-line is lost?

I weight in daily as I am a scale addict. I have been really sick these last 2 weeks and haven't been able to workout. When I do my workouts with weights I can lose 1-2 lbs/wk.

I am at 5 CC's and think I am good. I still get hungry every 2 hours. I eat no more than 1 cup of food and sit around 1400 calories. Down 5 lbs total for the last month with being sick & Easter.

My clothes are getting bigger :).

Good luck all!

Cheers,

Kristi

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
