- Hi Everyone

Been ok but I have cheated..here and there . So I have been between 331-337 now. Just last week I purchased a new scale. I weighted myself with the old scale and the new scale and the new scale shows a plus 3 lb difference. Thinking that the new scale was MAYBE defective I returned it. I cant remember the brand but it was not a well known one I don't think. I purchased it because it talked.

Well I got a new scale yesterday ( Taylor brand ) and again weight myself this morning with the old one, then the new one. Again 2-3 lbs plus difference. This is a simple scale with big number screen. The old scale I have is a Health-O- Meter which has the body fat measurement features on it which almost never works.

Thinking ok, maybe the old scale does not work I went to the gym this AM and yes first time in a year and weight myself first at home, then at the gym. The new scale and the gym scale are really close with a 0.2 difference. So I think I will use the new scale from now on...

I did manage to get in a 30 minute cardio workout and light weight training. felt really good.

Well with the old scale I was up to 334

New scale: 337 lbs... I will stay with the new scale.

Best scale ever had was the Tanita HD-351 digital weight scale... http://www.tanita.co...digital-scales/

Made a Dr's appt for next month. Last time I was at the Dr's office was Dec 12,2009 and weight 341 lbs... I would like to be 330 by March 02 next Dr's appt which I think can be attainable.

Start diet again 1/26/2011

Weight: 339.8 lbs

2-9-11- C/W- 331.2 lbs

2-16-11- 331.6 lbs (Old Scale)

2-23-11-

Welcome back, Joe. I know how difficult it can be to try and restart a derailed program. But you know there's a lot of support waiting for you here. I wish you lots of success, and decreasing pounds on your new scale - talking or otherwise.

I'm pretty new at this, but if I can help in some way, give me a shout. There aren't enough guys here.

Dave

Weekly weight in:

Today I weighed in at 331.0 ( with the new scale). The old scale would have read 328-329.

I took a break from the gym today...Just felling tired today.

I work from 2pm x 10PM ... When I get home from work around 10:30 PM I have some turkey slices.

I dont think I should be eating after 8:00 PM but just feel like I need a little something to get me through.

I don't go to bed until 12 midnight and get up around 6:30 AM to get ready to head to the gym at 7:30 AM

Well when I went to work yesterday I did not have any MOJO... Asked my supervisor for the rest of the day off.. Went home relaxed, but ate out of my diet zone..( Had Chinese) . Expecting some weight gain got on the scale this morning and did not show a gain.

Did manage to get to the gym this morning did some cardio and weight training.

I have to fast starting 7:00 PM tonight ... going to have some blood work done early in the morning that way the results are in the Dr's office by Mach 02.

Weekly weight in:

Well I finally got out of the 331-332 Lbs mark and hit 330 lbs this morning.

Went to the Dr's office after 13 months of not doing any follow-up/ fills... Had a fill ...

My BP was a little high. I am lacking Vitamin D so I am ordering some. My Iron and cholesterol was good. Last year needed some attention.

My goal for the next week weight in is to get to 328 lbs... Need to get to the gym a min of 3 x a week....

I have been cutting my calories to about 1,000 a day, going to change it up a bit and try to get in more Protein.

Congratulations on helping us all realize vigilance and discipline is part of the Bandster Lifestyle. I'm not sure I could tolerate a talking scale. And I find a bite or 2 of turkey can do wonders for me the next day.

Hi Jack

The talking scale thing was just for a change ......

Well tomorrow will be my weekly weight in so we will see if I reached my weekly goal weight of 328 lbs.

I'm still working out a min of 3-4 x a week....

My eating habits could be better... Was thinking of doing low carb, but I like to have choices. If I want to have spaghetti or a slice of pizza I have it.. Spaghetti just a small portion , pizza 1 slice thin crust....

congratulations! down is up as far as those of us who spent much of our lives being "gravitationally enhanced"..... I used to inhale all forms of Pasta in huge quantities....loved it but slowly came to realize it never actually satisfied my 'hunger'.....turned out it was the sauce that I liked and pasta was a mere vehicle for consumption thereof. I have pasta now maybe once a month or so. Same with pizza....and the thinner the crust the better. My old nemesis 'BREAD' (fresh sourdough, dark chewy kinds, or just wadded up in a dough ball) also led to many eating frenzies. Now it's rare I enjoy a whole sandwich with 2 slices....as both the sterling drivers of eating behavior ('fullness' as well as 'satiety) kick in and I just don't have the inclination to eat much of it. Chips....I actually had a small bag of Fritos the other day....first time in about 7 years. Hadn't 'quit' them, just uninterested. I grew up with Fritos as one of my main food groups. I had forgotten how greasy they are, and how salty. My tastes have mutated without much effort into healthier choices.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
