Wow, we are really so different. i havn't had a single ounce of hunger since i was banded on wednesday.

I wonder why its so different for all of us.

I feel really lucky.

Amber I am with you I have only felt hunger on third day post op most of my hunger is in my head. I have forced myself to eat. I feel lucky in this as well but at times it contributes to me being nauseated when I have to force myself to eat.

I too was banded on the 27th and I am starving today. I have tried to pay attention to my Fluid intake I have had popcicles, broth, a shake, and i am literally starving... On top of that I am having horrible back pain. i hope that i can get the hang of this soon!

I was banded the 28th and I"m so hungry, I tried mashed and thinned black-eyed peas last night, it was fantastic and it was thin enough to go through a straw which counted it as a full liquid :) This morning I had to make myself drink a Protein Shake to keep hunger at bay, I think this may be the only way to hold it off for a few hours.

SN: Does anyone have staples? I was surprised to find staples when I took the bandages off after 48 hrs. I've had to put bandaids over them after showering because they rub my clothes and hurt  My f/u appt is 9 Feb hopefully they'll come out without a problem.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
