Self Pay Question?

Recommended Posts

I wanted to know if anyone has gotten financing through that e-financing that someone posted in another thread? and if they were any good and if they new if they worked with people who dont have the best credit?

My other question is when going the Self Pay route, what did you do first, I mean after you choose which Doctor you want to use did you go and secure your loan first or did you attend your first Dr consult and then apply for your loan?

I am new at this and I wasnt sure how to proceed now that I have decided that I want the surgery and will need to take a loan to pay for the surgery.

Thanks!

I financed a portion of my surgery through e-financing solutions. I chose my doctor first, then worked on financing. After I was approved, I scheduled my surgery.

I've only gone through 2 payments with them so far, but the whole process was smooth. They are great as far as customer service goes. You do have to overnight your paperwork to them though, and that kind of annoyed me because you're responsible for paying for that. That's the only complaint I have though! :P

Good luck!

I went through Capital One Healthcare finance or cosmetic fee plan http://www.capitalonehealthcarefinance.com/ I applied over the phone and it was very simple. They told me immediately that I was approved. They did have a pretty high interest rate at 13.9% for a 5 year plan and I had pretty good credit. Also, I did not have to send anything "overnight". I did fax them my signature on one of their documents, but that was not required...they said I could send it through regular mail. Also, if you really wanted to fax it, I'm sure your doctors office would do it if you don't have a fax available.

Hope this helps,

Kim

Probably helps to find a Dr first that way you know about how much you need to finance.

I got my through Advanced patient financing and I dont have very good credit due to 34894389890934 in student loans! Just google them. I had to choose my doc and have a sx date schduled before they would process my loan.

I used Capital One too. They have special financing for surgeries like this. I applied online and had to put down the name of the surgeon so I used the name of the doctor I wanted. At that point I hadnt even contacted him. I got my online approval the next day and the surgeon's office called me right away because Capital One faxed them the approval too. I had my consult in the next couple of days. I didnt have to sign any financing forms until after the consult, when a surgery date was set; the surgeon's office had everything ready for me to sign and they took care of sending the paperwork to Capital One.

I am self pay. I am chosing to go to Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico. I took the money from my retirement account. We will get it as a tax deduction 2006 as an unreimbursed medical expense.

Hopefully it will all work out....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
