I totally understand the fullness issue. I've just ad my first post surgery Dr. visit and found out that my band has not been tightened yet. No WONDER I've been soooooo hungry!!! They use the first month for healing. I didn't know that! I've eaten alot of crap I should not, but I think it's psychological. I do get tightened up on Friday. I can't wait. I feel like I've wasted a month even with losing 11 lbs. It will be like starting all over again for me? I'm looking sooo forward to eating such small servings. I hope i'm not disappointed. I have felt the pain all the way down when eating certain things. I guess i've eaten too fast. Wish me luck!

eggs and whey Protein are the 2 highest grades of protein and are both complete. oatmeal is a carb. A food is usually categorized based on its highest macro nutrient. That is like saying Peanut Butter is a protein. Peanut butter is a fat that has a little protein in it. If you eat foods like oatmeal to try and get the protein out of it , you will never be able to eat enough of it to obtain a good serving of protein.. Most protein comparisons are done next to the profile of an egg because its rating is 100%. You can go on any nutrition website. If you look up high protein foods, or high bio-available protein sources.

I have yet to feel full as well but I am 5 months post op and have almost 8 cc's in my band. Have found plenty of things that get stuck and I no longer tolerate .. but still waiting on full. Starting to think it may never happen.

I have just had my first fill. 1 month as of today. I think they put 5cc in my band, maybe you should talk to your Dr. Maybe you need 10c in your band. I find myself getting fuller faster, but I don't stay feeling full very long. I think that's what they call the "sweet spot". I read where some people drink Protein Drinks between meals, but doesn't that sound like too much to eat? I have had a hard time distinguishing between being satisfied and being full. I don't feel full until I'm too full. Talk to your nutritionist. Maybe they can give you some more filling foods suggestions. I'm actually going to mine tomorrow. I'm just not sure how many calories, carbs, etc to have in a day. If you'd like, I'll let you know what is suggested to me. Don't get down...stay positive!

Oh, I ate the Beans as a meal by itself. I would get refried Beans and put sour cream and cheese on them. I use the Jillian Michaels whey vanilla Protein and add 1tb Peanut Butter, milk, and a little frozen yogurt in it. It's really good! You should be able to eat cream of wheat and oatmeal now. If you add a scoop of Protein powder to your oatmeal it will help with the fullness too.

Can you add any Protein Powder to oatmeal or just certain kinds because I'm looking for ways to up my Protein intake?

As you heal and before you start getting fills you will get hungry. You will be able to eat larger portions of food than you would want to on a diet. I am not trying to be negative. I wish more doctors were upfront about how this is a life style change (the band won't stop you from eating anything); you need to make good food choices. I did not start to get any restriction until my 6th month. I weigh my food and exercise an hour daily; yet I am still a slow loser.

i really think everybody is different..with that being said, i been banded going on three weeks. i am going in for my first fill on the 25th, right now i have know restrictions at all, but in the morning i have non fat plain yogurt with 1 scoop of pure whey Protein powder, and 1 tbs of wheat germ, around 8am, my next meal might be @ 2pm a can of tuna... I HAVE TO FORCE MYSELF TO EAT DINNER..that's all im saying is everyone is different.. b4 the ban i could eat that horse. not now....good luck and watch the portion sizes...4oz

This Monday I will be 3 weeks post op. I thought I was feeling full a few days ago, now I don't feel full much. I'm thinking I have prob healed pretty well and not as swollen, so food is more able to go thru now? I'm trying to eat the 2 week out foods still, but I do feel like nothing would not go down now. I read where someone wanted a salad before their first fill. I guess before any fills you're kind of still the same? I've been losing weight, so despite will follow the lists. I am still figuring it all out.

Yea, I totally understand!! I have only had 1 fill. I do get really hungry, so while I'm waiting my 30 min after drinking Water, I'm getting more hungry, then I eat too fast or too much.I'm really frustrated with all of this. I guess I just haven't given it a chance. I understand you have to find this "sweet spot", but are you screwed until then? Had my surgery on Jan. 7, have lost 13 lbs and standing still... I've lost inches, but the darn scale won't move... I just don't get it...Need ENCOURAGEMENT!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
