What the heck!!!! Weight going up

Recommended Posts

And make sure you weigh at the same time, everytime. I weigh once a week on Friday morning around 7ish. Anytime after that and the scales are crazy! Find a time and day that is good for you and keep it. If you can't get to it at that time, weigh the next day at the same time.

I weigh at the same time every day. My scale however changes every time I step on it. Yesterday I lowered carbs an today I was 174.6 in the morning. Stepped back on it again and it said 174.2. Again...175 then 176. I need a reliable scale. But regardless, I still am not at my previous weight of 173. This period thing is killing me. I know it is part of the problem. Oh one morevquestion. Do you all eat 1 piece or 2 pieces of chicken( leg and thigh). How about eggs 1 or 2. Just questioning my portions

Quit weighing everyday! You will drive yourself crazy. If you have to weigh on a regular basis, weigh just once a week and in the morning right when you get up. I use my Wii Fit to weigh. It keeps up with my numbers for me and is accurate with my dr.'s scale.

Your portion question: I only eat white meat, but never a whole breast. Usually 1/3 to 1/2. Your Protein should be around 4oz. For eggs, it really just depends. I cannot eat 1 egg in the morning, but in the evening for dinner I could eat 2. Just make sure you are getting enough Protein. I use sparkpeople.com to track my food. I also like livestrong.com. They have great tracking tools and also have apps for my phone.

I called the doctors office this morning and the nurse said....get more calories, more Protein, more water! Isn't that what you all said...This board is amazing!!!

So I will try this and hope I dont gain 10 pounds overnight.

I agree with everyone else... Stay off the scale. If you can't, ask your husband to hide it from you and only give it back once a week, i.e. Monday mornings... For my meals I do 1/2 cup solid Protein and 1/2 cup fresh veggies (anything but broccoli carrots and lettuce cause I can't get them down and cooked does not agree with me either)... I went through the same thing at about 2 mos after surgery and it about drove me insane! But I went out and bought some whey Protein Powder that I would mix with skim milk in the mornings and drink for Breakfast and MAN did it make a difference for me! The weight started coming off again and has not stopped since!

So just experiment and find what works for you. The people on here are full of great information and suggestions. I have learned a lot from the members here!:)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
