how close were you to goal before your plastics?

Recommended Posts

I still have some weight to lose, but I have been told by a couple of local surgeons that I will have optimum results with a lower body lift. I still want to lose about 50 pounds but carry almost all my weight in my pannus. My upper abdomen has no excess flesh whatsoever. I have been told surgery will take off 25-30 pounds.

Did anyone have a TT or LBL at a bit higher BMI?

I am getting the circumferential lift and my surgeon wants me to get to a weight and maintain it for 4 months before we start. I have been as high as 405 in life and started my bariatric journey at 374 and am currently 197.

I have a huge pans and he said that people assume that it weighs more than it really does but that's it's only 9-15 pounds. But he wants me to get as close to my goal a possible because a significant drop after surgery will alter my results.

I'm going to try to get to 185 before surgery.

Hi:

I got my Tummy Tuck when I was still 20 pounds overweight (according to bmi). I started at 324 got down to 174 and leveled out at 180 for about a year. My plastic surgeon wanted me to be at a stable weight for at least 6 months before plastic surgery to have the best healing results with my nutrition at a good level.

I healed very well and am very happy with the results in spite of the fact that I'm about 10 pounds heavier now than I was in May 2009 when I got my tummy tuck. If I could just get focused I could lose that ten in a couple of weeks, but I guess I don't want it that bad.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

I had ten pounds to loose,,, I went from 270 to 165 in a little over a year so my skin was saggy!! After I got my Tummy Tuck I lost 3lbs not much but I loved the new look!! I even gained 30lbs after being re banded and my stomach has not stretched,,, I've had another child and it's gone flat!! You will see muscle definition after tummy tuck it's pretty amazing

Skin reduction is not a weight loss replacement. do not be thinking you are going to drop 20-30 pounds in this style of surgery unless you have HUGE HUGE HUGE amounts of sagging skin. I was 430 pounds and dropped to almost 200 pounds. The skin reduction took off 10 pounds of skin and fat and that was from my arms, legs, chest, stomach and back.

DO NOT use this as a weight loss reduction and just keep patient and get down to your target goal

I was 77 kg when I started doing Lipo on different parts of my body. In lbs I didnt get my Tummy Tuck till i was 155 which was 10-15 from goal. Now i think i might settle at 145-150. I think it is best to wait until you atleas 20 lbs from goal before doing tucks etc but lipo before that is ok

Hi

I was 10 lbs below the target weight. my doctor asked me to add 10 lbs.

i recommend waiting till getting to goal weight to get the optimum results on the plastic surgery.

i felt if i still had 20-30 lbs to lose...when and if i did lose the weight...i would have extra skin again or it would be loose. the surgery was way too $$ and it was a major operation to do again.

i actually put weight on after my surgery. (i have since taken all but 7 lbs off.)

also as was said in a previous post...it isnt a way to lose weight....my skin taken off was only 4 lbs and it did not translate into actual weight loss.

My TT and boobs are still tight i think because i waited till i was down to my goal weight.

good luck in whatever you decide.

josie

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
