I'm surprised you weren't given liquid meds. Maybe call your doc or pharmacist and see if they can switch you. I had liquid lortab.

I've been fine taking an allergy pill, birth control, Vitamin D capsule, and acidophilus bead the day after surgery (mine was January 14). Anything smaller than an m&m / full size aspirin.

I have meds for PCOS, that I'm not taking, because the pills are so huge. I checked with the pharmacist, who said I could crush them and take it with applesauce. Call your pharmacist and ask them about your medication, if it is okay to crush.

I have two other meds that are small enough, that I don't have any problem with them.

Good luck to you.

Hi,

Yea, I know about crushing the pill's have been doing, adding with applesauce. One of my meds. Meformin for Diabetes, have no problem swallowing now, but they are large and concerned when I get my first fill. I was informed that the meds that could not be crushed would have to be exchanged for something else, have to see what they replace it Will. As regards to pain level it has been extremely low..........but that being said, I have a very high tolerance for pain to do to 3 spine surgeries, RA and Spinal stenos,so what I feel versis what someone else might be different. But over all everthing went well for my surgery have only taken pain Rx's a couple of times.

As to the pre-surgery diet, I know it sucks, but just think the pre/post diet is such a short time in your life and so important with healing and preventing complications in the future! I am so happy to have it and have lost about 20lbs already..................

Wish you the best of luck, let me know how you make out.

They told me any tablet bigger than an aspirin to cut in half, and capsules are no problem. I was able to take my happy pills and sleepy pills the next day. The metformin I used to take back in the day couldn't be crushed either because it was extended release and had some other capsule inside the tablet. I have some herbal supplements I like to take that are capsules, but I have been scared to do it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
