I just bought a Jack Lalane Power Juicer and am waiting for it to arrive in the mean time I was wondering if anyone on LBT is juicing and if you are what are your favorites...

I am not currently juicing but I used to and have a commerical juicer. One of my favorites is a "Red Eye". It has beets, carrots and apple. Yum. There was also a green goddess recipe I liked. I think it had apple, celery, akkk I can't remember what else but a bit of lemon - I do remember that.

I'm not juicing... but I really want to!!! I am one of the unfortunate ones that cannot eat raw fruits and vegetables (which I really loved before the surgery sad.gif). So I also want to know some of your favorite juice recipes laugh.gif.

One I've used and loved a long time is 11/4 cups orange juice, 11/4 cups frozen strawberries(I got fresh and froze them) 1 banana, 1/2 cup low fat yougurt, plain or vanilla, it's called Morning eye opener and I found it on the eating well site. Any berry can be used. I would get strawberries and blueberries and put them in baggies and have them ready in the freezer. Sometimes I used half or each berry. It was so good! The recipe called for a spoon of sugar but I never bothered with it....it's good without it.

I want one too. So I can drink those nasty veggies instead of eating them. Please keep us informed about how you like it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
