DeLarla's Happy New Year Pity Party

Recommended Posts

No matter what, there's no way Chris is gonna let me out of this house tonight. Not that I'm feeling well enough to go out, but missing New Year's Eve is like missing the birth of a child in some cultures (DeLarlaLand, for example.)

So, tonight at midnight, would all my friends please raise their glasses twice and take a swig for me? Heck, go ahead and kiss a hot guy/girl/both? if you gotta. Let me know how it went, and have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

You got it! I'll be having sparkling cider, but I'll have all those with regular drinks take a drink for you as well.

If Party is a state of mind, then how come you're not all here dancing in your pajamas in my living room?

I'm too sick to go onto the roof to watch fireworks. That's the part I really miss. Maybe Chris can drive me somewhere in my jammies to watch the sky. I simply adore fireworks :P

Corinne, thank all your friends for me! For 2006 I give up beer & coctails. My new plan allows me to order 2 glasses of wine with a tall glass of ice. That's it for the entire week. I'm taking off more weight, and that's that.

Its just turned midnight here and I wasnt drinking, but when the clock struck 12 and the fireworks went off I had a vodka cruiser just for you. After not drinking for so long I was feeling quite tipsy after it too. It is now 2006 here...Happy New Year!!!!

Awe, THANK YOU KELLY! It's only 7:45 a.m. on this side of the world, and I'm feeling the love all the way here! I'm sitting in my hubby's torn robe, fuzzy slippers, wadded up used Kleenex everywhere, dogs at my feet,

101 temperature, and you just made my whole day. Thank you!

I’ll raise my glass to you

May your health be good, may you have a great vacation this year, may your family and friends be happy, may the sunshine bright on your heart.

Pajama party here near the coast of California. Got Mr. & Mrs. Smith, March of the penguins and Willy Wonka….Karaoke set up (my latest favorite song, “I like this Bar”) Crab, Shrimp and a fish fry with dips, chips and popcorn.

We’ll see if the kids and make it pass 10:30?

No Pity just fun.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
