I'm on 1/4 cup of mushies three times a day plus two Protein shakes. My mushies are either egg, tuna, meatless meatballs or crab cake.

Do you feel any restriction ?

No but I feel no hunger at all - even in the morning. I could probably eat more at each meal but I'm sticking to my doctor's orders.

I am about 10 days out and i feel the same way, no real "hunger" but my gut grumbles alot. I eat only soft stuff like ricotta cheese and sauce w/ mozz on top (my favorite so far). The craziest thing so far happened last night, I woke up from a dream were i was dreaming of eating a rueben sandwich. It was wierd that im not really hungry but i miss all the bad food like fries and french dip sandwiches. When i am at a healthy weight I will be happy but now i miss that junk.

Too funny Jake! I dreamed of food last night too! I woke up, mouth watering over a McDonalds cheeseburger! I don't even like McDonalds! Lol!

I'm eating mushies for lunch and dinner 1/2 cup or so and a medifast shake for Breakfast, not because the dr told me to, but because I can't eat in the morning. I pretty much eat whatever I make my family for dinner and yogurt, tuna or eggs for lunch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
