  1. I would wait more than 2 weeks. I worked with people in wheelchairs at the time and my doctor made me take off 5 weeks. I am glad I did becaues if I tryed lifting a 100lbs person and am not healed all the way they warned me I could rip my internal sutures.
  2. I have had hypothyroidism for over 15 years. Before surgery I was on 250mcg of levothyroxine (a high dose). I had surgery 12/15/2011 and I am taking 137.5 mcg levothyroxine and dropping every couple of months. I hope to be off my meds some day, maby when im down about 50 more pounds. My hypothyroidism has been a roadblock to weight loss my whole life. I have never heard of Armour, I dont know if i should ask about it.
  3. Just thought I would suggest something for people who have trouble eating potato chips. If you microwave about 15 pieces of small pepperoni slices for 60 seconds they become crunchy and delicious! they only have 150 calories and no carbs. I know it sounds wierd but alot of the stuff we do after lapband is wierd to other people. Did anyone else find wierd foods that work well for the lapband post op diet?
  4. What I did on vactation to make it 'special'. was to each more rich foods that i usually would avoid . like lobster bisque and sugary drinks. I would only get an unfill if I was going on a cruise... not really.
  5. I had several dreams of eating a reuben or wings and drinking diet pepsi. I miss my old friends. But im glad there gone for good
  6. breakfast:6 oz. tropical powdered juice (mostly beet juice) -30cal , 0 protien lunch:garlic shrimp w 3 pieces crab rangoon -400cal, 40 protien dinner: pint of wonton Soup - 300cal, 20protien snack: pure protien shake and diet snapple - 130cal, 25 protien plus 1 gallon Water total 860cal, 85 protien
  7. Be careful with raw veggies. I ate a ton of salads before surgery (preop weight loss) and now i can't eat any (lettuce makes me very sick) I am about 2.5 months out. Hopefully it changes some day, i miss salad. Cooked beans have gone down easy as well as cooked spinach. I would stay away from chickpeas (even cooked) for a while, they made me sick too
  8. When someone asks me how much i have lost i tell them a whole long story about my surgery and my preop loss. By the time im done explaining my weight loss they usually dont want to hear more. Most of them dont ask again. lol
  9. I drink coffee every day with cream and splenda. I also drink a protien shake made with soy milk every morning when I wake up, which keeps my protien up and food intake down (keeps me full) . I am still scared of soda champagne and beer
  10. I have gotten sick 2 times... The first time I ate raw veggies (lettuce and tomato) and the second time was falafel (chickpeas)... So I am scared of any salad... I used to love them but I run away now! I envy you people who can handle this stuff
  11. What I call being "stuck" is a uncomfortable feeling in my chest, it felt like I couldnt finish swallowing. I drank a little milk after a few minutes and I felt better. Theres no other way I can describe it but uncomfortable
  12. I have not had a fill yet and I just had a "stuck" food problem. I wanted to try a tiny home made cheeseburger w/ cooked onions. 1st bite and I was done...I have had ground beef, cheese and cooked onions with NO problem so... It must have been the white bread bun! It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be but I put off dinner for a couple hours and only had soup then. I am back off bread.
  13. Its normal. If you dont go for a couple days after you start soft food I recomend mineral oil.
  14. I don't know if there are any near you but there is a national chain of fitness centers called planet fitness. I go there, its 10 bucks a month and open 24/5 and 7a-7p on sat and sun.
