Stop the madness

I would like to propose a moratorium on the word “only”. As in I “only” lost … pounds. Remember pre-band when you were gaining during the holidays, as in I “only” ate 12 Cookies and a ham and I “only” gained 10 pounds. Every pound lost is cause for celebration. Everyone will lose at their own pace so don’t compare yourself to others and embrace every victory however small. Staying the same weight is still a victory during the eating season. Say it proudly. “I lost … pounds”. That’s the “only” thing I have to say today. Merry Christmas everyone. I’m sitting in a blizzard and loving it.

Why is there an ad for Mt. Zion over my post????? Not cool. I am not a band advertiser. I hate the new site. Just saying.

OMG!! You read my mind. I almost posted a thread like this yesterday. I saw so many posts with the word "only" and that irritated me. Everyone should be proud of any weight loss. It doesn't matter if it's .2 lbs. You lost , so you should be happy.

Good Luck to everyone out there that is struggling with this... What great time of the year to start the new you!

i'm 2.5 years post-op and at my 2 year follow-up my surgeon told me i'm considered a "success case" because i've lost 60% of my weight. he told me i'd probably not lose any more weight because i'm "big boned".

april 2008 i weighed 213 pounds the day of my surgery

april 2010 i weighed 173 pounds on my 2 year anniversary

december 2010 i weigh 155 pounds which is a few short pounds away from my goal!

i'm PROUD to say that i lost ONE POUND this month which brings me even closer to my goal!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
