hardness under my large incision

Recommended Posts

So I was baded November 19th which would mean tomorrow I am 3 weeks post op. The thing that worris me is that I feel this hardness under my large incision but that isn't where my port is. My port is about 3-4 inches bellow the large incision. I was getting a lot of Fluid in it before but that has stopped. However I still have a rock hard feeling directly under my incision. And only the large one. Any thoughts??

I have the exactly same "hardness" you described but when I asked my doctor he said that IS my port. Are you sure that's not the case?

I was banded Nov 17th and I have the same hardness and that is where my port is...it's probably normal.

It's your port more than likely..

No I spoke to my Doctor already and he never gave me a definitive answer on what the hardness is. I can feel my port and he showed me where my port was. So I know that it isn't my port. I'm just not sure what it could be though.

I also have a large knot under my largest incision...but my doctor told me that it's where my port is & I have a hematoma around it. It's very sore & uncomfortable. I'm 8 days post-op. I have to go back to the doctor on Friday to make sure it's not infected. I'm hoping that he will drain it or something. It's the size of a baseball!

I have the same thing. The nurse said it was scar tissue?? When I went in for my fill this week she actually pushed around and stuck the needle in thinking it was my port but after moving it all around realized it wasn't, that it is actually a little to the right of my big incision after looking with the xray thing and marking the port spot so she could poke me again! Luckily she made a note in my file where the port actually is! Maybe yours is the same??

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
