5 months post op

Recommended Posts

I will be 5 months post op on the 15th. I had my 6th fill last week. I am feeling more restriction and I am eatting way less than even last week before the fill. However, I am not losing weight and I am wondering how to get the Protein in. I need some ideas for good Protein Shakes etc. I can eat maybe half of McDonalds cheeseburger, but then end out sliming a little and spitting out the last bit or so.

I also can not eat until around noon or later. Sometimes in the morning I can't even drink Water. Which is fine, but I am having a hard time with the not eatting until afternoon and then still not being able to get much down.

Any input is great

Thanks

Jessica

TRy a warm cuppa in the morning to relax things. Stay away from McDonalds. Try some tuna or salmon or moist chicken and salad and eat slowly and chew well. Stay away from bread. If things don't settle you may need a slight unfill.

Hi, I will be 5 months post op on the 14th and like you Im having some problems. I cant eat in the mornings. I do good getting my meds down before I go to work. I dont get lunch til about 1:30 or maybe even as late as 2:30 on some days. Sadly Ive been grazing on cheetos (thats a big no-no), to keep my stomach from hurting while trying to work. I would also like to know of some healthy Snacks.< /p>

Ive been stuck at the same weight for about 2 months. Im wondering if my ports too full. There is not much I can eat that I dont get the slime and then run to the bathroom. But I still catch myself eating too fast and taking too big of a bite and not chewing as good as I should. This causes me to still be hungry even though I have just eaten.Forty six years of bad habits are hard to break, so Im still trucking along hoping things will get better.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
