Band Leaking ?????

Recommended Posts

I had a similar problem, they thought ! So they filled me under Fluoroscopy, and added a Acrylic to plug any Leaks if there is one.

I am good to go.

Unless it's falling apart, like the tubing coming apart (you would be in pain). This can be fixed from the outside.

Just passing it your way, since you asked if any one had this kind of a problem.

Hi 54shirley, Well i went in today . They Found leak!!!!! They put darker blue color in band this time . When they removed port and pulled out some tubing the doc saw a Blue dot going through the tubing , He clamped past this and put some good pressure on port and it squirted out in a stream. So he replaced port and some tubing. I'm at 4cc's now. Didn;t need floroscopy. I;m glad they found the smoking gun .

I've never had big restriction , kinda spooky . I have been hung up a few times I can't eat triscuits anymore.LOL . A woman i know has a band , her doc fills it up to full capacity then lets enough out so Water will pass. She loses 3-4 lbs every week. I've watched her eat . She will pick at a small dinner salad and thats it. Na i like food too much.

Well,, it's your choice with the Band ....

You can have some restriction,, and eat, and watch your calorie intake on myfitnesspal.com (FOR EXAMPLE)

Then when you hit between 800-1200 calories, your done for the day.. That's how I do mine, and it works.....

Actually I would prefer being a little tighter ! Because it deadens the hunger hormone in me for about 5-6 hrs. which is nice.

Problem is,,,, I can't swallow my meds, crushing them is to nasty. I'll have to see if I can get any of it in liquid form, then I would consider

a slight fill.

The other thing is I told his P.A. ONLY .1 cc at a time for a fill, I have a 4cc band and it don't take much to feel more restriction.

Well she put in .1 and 1/4. That was to much, and I was Flemming up. (TO TIGHT). I said I told you, and she started to say I didn't think.......

RIGHT ! You didn't think, or pay attention.

For me, thats just over 120 miles one way ! That's a 2 hour Drive there, then the same back. By the time I get down there, and it takes them time to fill me,

So 2 hrs. plus 1hr. office, 1hr. take the husband to lunch (MY TREAT), fill the gas tank $30.00, then drive 2 hrs. coming home.

I'm glad to get home, and my day is done.

So I can't afford mistakes.

But that's my situation, I'm sure yours is different.

Like I said though,,, Glad your fixed up ! Now you will see how the Band works, and remember to chew your food into mush, and only little bits at a time.

Then you will get the full benefit of the band.

Look into the site I gave you. If your not there yet,,, It's a good place to be, a lot of us are there.

Good Luck, Shirley.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
