Curious about others goals...

Recommended Posts

I know that we are all different when it comes to shapes, sizes, bone structure etc.

BUT

I was wondering what your starting weight was and what you had in mind for a goal weight.

I'm 5'3, 247lbs (was 267lbs, had to lose to qualify for surgery) and my goal is to get down to 127lbs.

I've seen, randomly here some other goal weights. Just curious! :blushing:

I am 5'7 and the goal set for me was 155...I am thrilled to be losing weight..I was osrta leaning towards 140...I guess I have a little time to think that one over...

I'm 5'3, started at 232lbs. My doctors "ideal weight" for me is 115. I haven't been that weight since high school. My personal goal is around 130.

Starting weight 243. Current weight is 198. Goal weight is 165. Been at a plateau for 2 months and don't kniow how to move from here. I exercise twice a day. 30 mins in the morning and 40 mins at night. I count calories, but I still eat about 1600 daily. I have had 6 fills and still no good restriction yet. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thaks.

P.S. I was banded in January of 2010

Hm - what kind of exercise do you do? Do you ever switch it up? Sometimes our bodies can get used to a particular kind of exercise and it just sort of adjusts. Maybe add in something new like walking? Or if you constantly use the treadmill, maybe do some elliptical training. Or if you're doing a steady speed and resistance, maybe try interval training? You may also be gaining muscle mass.

What is your doctor's calorie recommendation? I know a lot of women who are not banded who try to cap their calories around 1200 for weight loss. Maybe try to change your exercise and reduce your calories a little? If you really want to eat 1600 a day, maybe stagger...one day eat 1500, the other day eat 1700. I think maybe your calorie intake could be part of the problem though.

my goals aren't measured by height and weight, I just want to go to six flags with my hubby and fit on the roller coasters again, and fit into my wedding dress for our recommitment cermony, or go into a store that isn't strickly for the plus size lot and buy an outfit. I guess my goal is to enjoy life again and feel comfortable in my own skin :)

I am 5'8 - starting weight was 258

Current weight is 148 give or take a pound or two depending on the day

My origial goal was 155 - I am very happy where I am and love seeing that 140 something on the scale :)

It puts me well with in the middle of the normal range on BMI :)

I am in a size 5-6 so I'm loving it! :)

I figure if I am ever able to get my Tummy Tuck I'd loose another 5-8 pounds (maybe more).

Due to a genetic Cancer issue, I am getting new boobs in a couple of months so that's the first thing to get worked on!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
