fluid missing when checking levels at a fill

Recommended Posts

my fill nurse decided that i needed the amount of Fluid in my band to be checked at my last fill as i had lost restriction after only 4 weeks after a fill. when she drew the fluid back there appeared to be 1,85ml less in my band than she said there should have been. this worried me and her she said she knew that you can get some evaporation of the fluid over time but not that much i now have to go back on the 24th to get the levels checked again as she put a further .75ml into my band. really not happy that so much seems to have disappeared

I had a fill about 4 weeks ago and I was missing 1 cc. My surgeon said it can hang out in the tubing/curves of the band. I go in on monday for another check/fill. He never said anything about evaporation. Ill let you know what I find out on monday. Till then good luck with things. Try not to worry about it to much.

well i go tomorrow to get my Fluid levels checked again i just hope and pray i have not got a leak in my band if there fluid missing again i will have to go for a dye test on my band to see if its leaking anywhere and then im told i will have to pay the hospital fees and a new band untill they can send the band off and get it checked if there is a default in it then i will get my money back, that senario is fine if i actually had any money to pay for this

I would argue the point with them. If the band has a leak, then they've either installed a defective band, installed it wrong, or damaged it while installing it...or perhaps even during a fill. In any case, the leak is not any fault of yours and is their responsibility...both in fixing it and either bearing the cost themself or fighting with the manufacturer about a defective band.

It would be cheaper (and far more P.R. friendly) for them to do the right thing than get to pay their legal fees, your legal fees and suffer the negative publicity. Remember...the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Just curious...how does Fluid in an enclosed system 'evaporate'?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
