Fatty nodules under the skin.

Recommended Posts

I know they aren't cancerous, they move, and im quite sure its because of the extra weight im carrying. I'm curious if anyone had this problem, and if you did when you lost most of your weight did they leave as well, or did all or some still remain?

i would love the feedback.

:)

Mine are becoming more and more noticeable to the touch as I lose weigh. I am hoping they will melt away but don't know.

Hi,

I have one on my thigh. They are called lipomas. Check out the wikipedia page.

I heard that they are genetic - they won't melt away unfortunately.

My Dad has had a few removed and they just kind of "pop them out" of a small incision.

I'm hoping I don't find more once I get some of this padding off!

My mother has had a couple Lipomas removed. She had one "lump" that she swears developed after one of us kicked her with one of those old school hard baby shoes (during a diaper change); removed from a breast.

Years ago, before my wedding, I lost about 60 pounds. It was then that I found a lump in my left arm. the doc did an MRI and he called it a "fatty tumor"...I didn't know about the term lipoma until now. He said I probably had it for most of my adult life and never felt it before because I was so heavy. Now that I'm losing again I've found another one in a different spot on the arm. I'm glad to hear they're common so I won't worry as much!

I remember he said they don't remove them unless they begin to cause problems/hurt, etc. Just leave it alone and hope it doesn't show much!

OK, I just watched the removal of one of these Lipomas on Youtube...OMG, I don't think I'll eat for a few days now. I'm a wimp when it comes to surgical stuff!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
