Any one wants to give away some old plus size clothes!!

Recommended Posts

I am having problems finding reasonable plus size clothes. I dont want to spend much on them because I wont be able to fit them in a few months. Most of my clothes dont fit because they are too big, I've tried ebay, goodwill, salvation army to find cheap clothes, specifally jeans and pants I wear a 24tall in womens pants, and 22 in tops and dresses. Its hard to find discounted fashionable stylish jeans and pants. It would be greatly appreciated.

I wish I had known. I gave away two huge bags of size 24s and some 22s a few weeks ago to a store similar to Goodwill. I have some 22s still and some 20's, though.

I feel your pain, though. I gave away over half my professional wardrobe (slacks, skirts, nice jackets, and also some jeans, tshirts and sweaters), and don't have the money to buy new stuff I don't think I'll be in too long. Thus the glory of thrift stores.

Most plus sized woman have at least heard of Woman Within, Roamans, Jessica London, etc... BUT, there is a website called BCOutlet.com that sells all their clearance for a fraction of the cost! I have been purchasing from them for over a year now and have been very pleased!

It's a little hit and miss with some sizes and colors because is the last of the clearance items, but sometimes you can score GREAT deals!

Good luck everyone!

If all else fails find a person that does alterations to clothes and that shouldn't cost more that 5 or 6 dollars for each item. That's cheaper than buying new pants. I just bought a new belt to keep them up until this winter come and then I will buy some new ones.

I've considered alterations, but only for a few favorite items. I'm very cheap  I've found I can go to the local thrift store and get stuff for $3-$4 that fits. Again, I'm VERY cheap (all my daughter's clothes come from a thrift shop, too).

Find a Goodwill or other thrift shop - I always give to them. Then there are garage sales - look for ones in medium to upper income areas. Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant and Avenue are all awesome and not terribly expensive. Then there is Plato's Closet... they give you credit for clothes you bring in and you can use that credit for clothes they have in stock that others have traded in.

ORRRRR we could do what people who have two different sized feet and organize a swap....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
