Sorry about the title but I don't know how else to say it. Has anyone else noticed a very strong odor with their urine? I drink the required Water and the Protein so I didn't know if I'm the only one?

I have the same problem when I am either dehydrated or have ketones (comes with losing the fat)

I noticed the same thing. My pee smells like a barn!!!! It must be the Ketone thing because I notice it more the less I eat. BUT, I will take smelly pee if it means I will be thinner!

Hi:

If your pee is almost the color of Water you're getting enough liquids in and your urine probably won't be extra smelly. If your urine is yellow/gold in color you're not getting enough liquid and your pee will be extra smelly too. I know from experience. I'm not sure exactly how the ketones effect things. I try to drink enough but if I drink enough to make my urine clearer then I can't sleep because I'm up peeing three or four times during the night, so I trade back and forth on getting enough liquid in.

When your band is at a restricted level you can't drink fast, so it's important to have a drink handy most of the time so you can sip from it when you're in that time period between meals when drinking is okay. It's hard to balance sometimes.

Take care.

Sue

Your urine can also be dark if you take B complex Vitamins. I drink 64oz of Water daily, plus other things like Powerade zero, tea, fuse, etc. So I am plenty well hydrated, yet in the mornings after I take my vit.s my urine is golden yellow. It's the B-100 Vitamin that I take being metabolized.

I have yet to be so tight that I can't drink pretty big swallows. Other times I can feel the liquid trickle through. Everyone is different.

I keep a bottle of Water by the computer and when I'm playing games.. I take a drink everytime I score a point.

And yeah, I try to get my fluids in early so I'm not up all night. Still have 16oz of water to go today.. better get on it.

Oh My! Wheww! Somebody else that has noticed the same thing. Not only does my urine have a stronger smell but I swear I have that Cheerios smell coming out of my pores. I keep wondering if others can smell it too. My face is oilier and I cannot stop sweating. My thinking is: with the change in diet, carbs, especially wheat products like bread, have essentially been cut out of the diet, so, my body is trying to eliminate the candida or yeast out of my system. I did notice that once I started to put wheat back into my diet, I got very bloated, so I am aiming to eliminate all wheat from my diet. I first thought it was milk, but I have been drinking milk since my surgery and only noticed the bloating when I started to add things like crackers back in.

Hey I am willing to deal with the cheerios smell if it means that I am eliminating something that was bothering my insides. Hmm? How many years have I been soothing myself with carbs? Too many!! My insides and outside deserve better.

PS: I agree about the Vitamin B changing the urine colors, but I think it is more of a florescent green. really alarming the first time.

WTH type of vit B are you taking? Fluorescent green? Bright yellow/orange maybe. I was a nurse for more than 20 years and have never seen urine i would describe as any type of green that i remember.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
