Talk to your pharmacist. Many medications have alternative forms. Capsules are usually time release, meaning a similar medication is probably required.

Should I try to drink something or just let it dissolve on its on. Its my Prevacid, ironic how it is the pill that is suppose to help my stuck indigestion feeling!

Depends on how stuck you're feeling. If it's only mild discomfort, try sipping something hot like tea and see if it will help dissolve it. If it's stuck to the point of making you feeling like pbing, I'd just walk around and wait til it passes through.

I'm not so happy with the company I went through either. I dont have a lot of issues and never called cause I figured what I was feeling/having was normal. But when I did call "once" they never return my calls. I only called back because I didnt get a return call the first time. Still no call! I have Fluid in my band and I have some questions about discomfort and wanted to see if that could be the reason. no call. Nothing......

If it is truly stuck, anything you drink will just back up behind it and probably come back out the way it went in.

Hopefully it will pass soon.

If it is a capsule, you can break it open and sprinkle it on a small spoon of applesauce accordig to most docctors- as long as you can swallow it down quickly, before the med dissolves since it is time released. But I always say call the doctor or pharmacist to make sure...just to be on the safe side. Always error on the side of caution.

But a warm drink should help move it on down to your new tummy.

Please don't do this without checking with your doctor or pharmacist.

Many capsules should not be opened and sprinkled. Time-release caps are designed to dissolve in the small intestine rather than the stomach, and opening them completely changes the bioavailability of the medication.

Quite often, meds come in other forms. When they do not, a similar drug in liquid (or crushable) form is usually available.

When I have (non time-release) caps bugging me (not usually stuck, per se, but kind of lying against the stoma and obstructing things) warm liquids do help (rather than back things up). They dissolve the Gelatin and make it possible for the cap to pass through easily.

I support the baby comment. It was by far the funniest thing ever posted on this site.

I listened to my mother belittle me from day one practically until the day she died. Blaming me for the pain she went through with the C-section.

I support the baby comment too. While I know nothing about the experiences of childbirth nor being banded, my wife has had 3 chidren both naturally and C-section and each experience was different for her. And I think the overall theme here is that some people have had significant pain/discomfort from being banded and others haven't. Some women have had significan't pain/discomfort from childbirth others havent. But at the end of the day (in my opinion) I think the point Manda was making was that a woman who went through childbirth and experienced the same pain as someone who got banded wouldn't turn around and want to give back her baby just because of the pain and discomfort, no matter HOW extreme it was. Being banded is almost like giving birth to a new you and a new life and no matter how severe the pain is you WILL survive and you WILL lose weight and acheive your goals. Just keep beleiving that.

Just my $.02

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
