Getting my arms done would love to hear from people who have had theirs done!

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am having my "bat wings" removed Oct 14th, and I am excited and scared! Would love to hear from anyone who has had this done!!

I am supposed to get a full body lift Jan 31st BUT I have gained some weight during my vacation(a cruise) and I am so mad that I did that. Don't know if I should do the body lift now. What if I had already had it and gained this weight!

Thanks for listening can't wait to hear from everyone!

Ann

I can't wait! I wish I could do my breasts at the same time. That is what the Dr. wanted to do. Ins does not cover any of it so I rather save for the body lift next rather then my breasts. They want 10,000 for my arms, 20,000 for the body lift and 10,000 for my breasts and 10,000 for my thighs(which are awful!) so my breasts will be last IF I can find the money:frown:

Thanks for sharing the pictures!!

I had it done in Jan of this year and I am fairly pleased, also. I can't take as good of pictures as SH can, though. I don't know how to turn my flash off, but my results are very similar to hers, adjusting for our age discrepancy, LOL. I am NOT sorry I had it done. Best wishes.

Mimi

Will insurance ever pay for arms? I figured they wouldn't since I don't get any rashes or anything from them....just TONS of annoyance. ARGH!

I had my arms done too and am very pleased. Are they perfect well no but then at my age they are pretty good. I had boobs and tummy done at same time and I am very much pleased. Insurance paid for tummy-pannilectomy, I paid for breast lift. I had my arms done in April.

scars are only visiable if I lift my arms up to show them, yes I wear sleeveless dresses/blouses. I can live with the scars better than I could the loose, wrinkled old lady arms. I am very pleased.

Just my opinion...ask if your surgeon if he plans to use staples in your skin. Staples are easy and fast but leave the little frankenstein scars all along the incision. They are an indication of a lazy surgeon and I would never go to one who does that. They are for inside the body not the skin.

With hand suturing the thread is in/under the skin so there are no side scars/holes.

Good luck to all!

I am sure that they do have a kind of machine that does sutures (Not staples)

Mine looked horrid when it was first done - Kinda raised and like blanket stitch - I think that is what was used on me - Though I do't really know to be honest...

I was so upset when I first saw my scars - But 3 days after him taking the dressings off it already looked more normal. My surgeon is a Microsurgeon - Though my arms had the auto-suture machine (I think was kinda asleep at the time LOL) And on my belly and boobs I have the amazing tiny line of the hand sewing - I reckon it depends on which part of the body they do?

I know my first surgery took ages (Arms and boobs) I went down at 9am and wasn't back till like 3-4 or so pm)

My belly I went down at 3pm and was back at about 6...

My arms were done in April and that scar is still a red line, and my belly was done Aug 12th and that is a finer red line... I guess time will tell how they look in the end... Though part of my arm scars is already fading and looking pretty good :-)

I far far farrrrrrrr prefer the red line to the saggy arms I had before :-)

I reckon they use this (Took me ages to find this pic again)

Very interesting - If this is right and from their pics it's virtually gone at 15mths - Thats fab.

Agree, but why not ask for the tiny hand-sewn everywhere if you know about it? Things have changed a little but since it is a self pay elective procedure why not ask for and get what you want? I would bet any $ that no machine or stapler has ever touched the skin of Demi Moore!

I dunno - I only just found out about this machine - But....

From what I have read it gives a better result than hand sewn - I guess I will find that out over the next few months.... Right now my scar is just a line....

Time will tell

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
