size ? How many have you gone down?

Recommended Posts

I am now officially down 100 pounds and have only gone down 3 pants sizes (from a womans 32 to a 26).

I am wearing a 18-20 top (as well as it is stretchy, and short... <so it does not have to fit over my belly>)

It is so frustrating to still be wearing such a large size. :thumbup:

It is because of my very large pannus. Anyone else with this problem??

If so... any suggestions???

I started in a women's 24, and now wear a 12 petite jean. But I lingered in higher sizes for a REALLY long time before seemingly suddenly jumping down.

I started out in a size 22/24 pants and a 2X/3X top and today I wear a size 8/10 pants and a S/M top. I do have a couple size 6s but not many.

I've lost 50 or 60 lbs so far and I went from a 24/26 to 18/20. I always had to find something with spandex, now I'm in 100% cotton. I think it just depends. Before when I was smaller 10/15 lbs made a huge difference, it was the difference bewteen a size 6 or 8. I realized its totally different with larger sizes I gain 30 lbs the year before I had my surgery and still wore the same size. It will come, congrats on the weight lost so far.

I went from a 28/3X at my highest weight to a current 8/10 in pants/suits and small/medium in tops.

I'm not sure how you can "spot reduce"...it's pretty much falls off where it wants to. I was a size or two bigger on the bottom than the top at my heaviest and with exercise...mainly walking, elliptical, hiking and biking and strength training, I'm more "equal". You may be one of the unfortunate that need surgery to remove that area. Give it time. The more you lose, the more it will reduce.

I've gone from a 22 and 3x to 16/18 and XL/1x. It is frustrating to lose weight and not see the sizes change as much as I thought that they would.

Right now, only 6 months out, I have dropped one pant size (26 to 24) and a couple of shirt sizes (4x to 2x). However, with scrub pants I can wear a 2x. I guess it really just depends on where you carry your weight.

Went from size 18/20 to now a size 8___although i can fit some 6's. Funny my initial goal was 165 and size 10/12...then went to 150...thought it would take me to a solid 10-some 8's....10's. I am at 156 and 10's are falling off of me...can fit any 8's and a few 6's...weird. I exercise a lot, so I have leaned out although i still weigh a lot. What i have noticed is that as you get smaller...5 pounds can move you from 1 size to the next....My goal is 150..but i really dont want to be too thin....funny huh...would never have thought i would say that! LOL...

By the way...I am about 5'6.

Exercise and the size's will start to change. My lesson...focus less on weight and more on changing of my body. I do weigh myself to keep myself in check...

After a 100 pound loss

Before= size 24 tall jeans

After = size 12 tall jeans

scrubs before = 2X (tight)

after = M (baggy)

No saggy tummy for me, but my arms are VERY BAD. The skin hanging under my arms looks like the skin of a 100 year old. We are all built so differently.

Started in a tight 18W. Now fit nicely into a 10, have 2 pair of size 8 pants in the closet that fit on slim days.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
