I'm losing inches in the wrong places

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else feel this way? I've lost 15 1/2 inches total since being banded, but I've mostly lost them in my boobs & hips. My butt is totally gone (being Black, we like to have big booties... think of Beyonce)

Anyway, I really wanted to lose my stomach, and it's just not happening. Even though my pants fit like clown pants, I can still wear them because if I pull them up over my stomach just right, they will stay there. In the hips & thighs, way to big.

Generally the place you have the most problem will be the last place you lose it.

I tend to be pear shaped, but finally got so fat that it started going on my belly and my boobs just got enormous and I have a parcel rack on the back now, lol. I bet my belly boobs and back shrink first and probably quickly, and then I'll hang around in that overweight, largish thighs and bottom stage for ages. In fact I've never not been like that which is why I scoff at their 80-85kg goal for me and think more like 65-70kg.

hey Cissy, I'll trade ya! I'm White and have been accused of having an "ethnic" figure (as told by my Black friend, Jackie) so I'm losing like Jachut. Top down and bottom up. I have lost in my face, neck, shoulders, ribcage and waistline AND in my feet and calves. Butt and thighs are the last to go so if I could give some away, you can have it!!! I want your skinny legs and butt! Ahh, the grass is always greener, huh?

I'm working on the "Butt Shelf" in the back, below my waist and above my backside. And the ongoing thighs, geez Louise!!!

The pregnancy belly is a whole 'nuther ball game.

Yep, the biggest parts are the last to go. Hang in there, chicken legs! (you know I'm jealous when I resort to name-calling :)) You'll start seeing some good progress as your get good and under 200. Which won't be long! You are doing great!!

Oh yeah! Yep, same here. All sounds strangely familiar, but you said it so funny!!!!

I just talked to my friend who also has a big butt, and her response was:

"Big butts are not all they're cracked up to be!"

Get it, butt... crack... :):D:D

ROFL@ CISSY

Okay well I really don't have a butt to lose, I'm all belly but I never seem to lose it there, I lose it in my boobies, legs and face but not in the gut.

You can always get those padded bootay's :( LOLOL or walk backwards and keep smiling.

Cissy, I cracked up when I read your post. I had my surgery in 9/05 and I am down 30 pounds and it seems as my but is gone, gone, gone. I never had a bootyliscious booty anyway and now that I have lost 30 pounds I have no assatol. lol

I walk the treadmill, walk the tracks and ride the back. I guess I will try squats and the stair stepper and see if that helps. My first milestone is over I know longer wear 18's and now I am in 16's. Alot of people say I have lost my boobs but I think they still look like watermelons. Everyone notice my weight loss because of the droopy sagging pants, I now need a belt. Good luck

O.K. gals, here's one for you. As some of you know, I had a double-mastectomy 3 years ago. I had what's called tram-flap reconstruction where they take tissue & fat from the abdomen, & attach it microscopaly to make new ones. WELL, THEY'VE GOTTEN SMALLER! My plastic surgeon is flabergasted & we crack up every time I see him.

FYI, thighs are still big!

Cissy, I'm losing in exactly the same places as you and not losing in the same places as you. I think the grass is greener on the other side. But I gotta admit, that it's more socially acceptable to have big thighs and a big booty than a small booty with small boobs and a big belly. We'll get our revenge on those skinny freaks, though!

I'd be glad to give ya some of my hips lol. They've barely budged since being banded :/

Used to have a good ole ghetto booty, but now its flat as, with massive hips.

It'll all sort itself out in the end though Cissy. Don't give up yet :P

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
