A little worrie !

Recommended Posts

I am having my lap band surgery in 16 days. I am getting a little worried. I know this is what I want to do and I know that all change is hard. Any words of support would be great.

:rolleyes2:

It is an awesome tool if you're committed to a lifestyle change. A properly adjusted band combined with exercise and eating reasonably will shed your unwanted fat slowly but surely.

Good luck!

I felt the same way before my lap band. Its normal to feel worried..it still IS a surgery. The morning of I was shaking..I never had any kind of surgery before. But my dr was there before I went under and he calmed me a lot. Talk to him to let him ease even up to that very minute. Its over and ur awake before u know it and the rest of the day is the easy part..bc ur on pain meds..lol. But don't worry its over before u kno it. Comes and goes fast. You"ll be fine. Also..reading success stories on this site helps a lot too. Everyone here really helped ease my jitters. Can't wait to hear all about ur surgery when its over and see the new you! Cheers

It really is normal to worry, it's surgery after all. The fact is you are doing something great for yourself. Just relax, follow doctors orders and you will do great!

You deserve to be healthy!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
