Question for those that are six months post surgery

Recommended Posts

What is the most weight you've lost in one month and what do you think you did differently? I'm just curious - always trying to try something new or change routine/food/exercise.

Thanks

I've consistently lost at the same rate since banding---and consistently done the same things. I do bump up my exercise as my body becomes accustomed to what I'm doing---I use my body bugg to gauge whether a workout is still doing the trick for me.

I have consistently lost 2 lbs per week until very recently - I'm 32 post band and I've lost 65 lbs. Now I won't lose for one or two weeks or even be up a pound and then lose 4 lbs........So, I'm thinking it's because I've gotten down to my last 30-35 lbs to lose and I will now have to work even harder. I know I don't need a fill - I'm still pretty restricted. I just beleive that I need to make better choices with food and bump up my exercise.

I'm in the middle of what I think will be my biggest losing month since being banded about 7 months ago. I was/am a low BMI user to begin with but this month I have lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks and thinking I'll end up at 15 or so for the month. Two things have helped with this. I got a fill that finally gave me restriction but as important as that and maybe more is I have started running. Not walking fast but running. I can't go long distance so I sprint from one light pole on my street to the next then I walk to the next light pole, then sprint again. Wow, what a difference it is making. It's fun also.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?
