I remember going for a fill and the extremely skinny fill Dr trying to put me off having a fill as she did not think I needed to lose any or much more weight! She then did a calculation which showed that I was successful as I had lost 90% of my excess.

I was not impressed to say the least.I did not go through the process of being banded to remain overweight.

She did give me a fill and I have now lost all my excess weight and am sitting well within the normal range.I would actually love to lose some more but am now finding it hard to find the motivation to do so.Why would I want to lose more?

I didnt say it of course, but to me, if you can pinch a roll on your middle (deflated weight loss tummies excepted of course), you've got a fair bit of weight to lose.

This is why. I still have a roll on my stomach(fairly big) and I agree with Jacqui that this means I have more to lose. The problem is that the weight doesn't come off where you want it to. I am constantly being told that I have skinny legs, my daughter tells me I have no bum and my boobs are definitely now on the small side! So how do I lose the stomach without the other parts getting even smaller?

The poll needs another choice.

-I've already lost more than that.

I lost 50% prior to banding. Hell no, I wouldn't be satisfied!

I am happy to be losing any weight at all but will not be satisfied completely until I reach my ultimate goal. I didn't have surgery to do things half-ass.

I'm already almost there (50-60% ) with no fill. I want more. My doc wants me to lose more than I would need to for a normal bmi I would be happy with normal.

No, but I know it's up to me how much I lose, if I give up it's my fault, not my bands... I do understand exactly why people can't reach their goals. They can't get over the food addiction.

I know I will be satisfied with not losing 100% of my excess weight because I know that in order to get to my 'ideal' weight, it will involve a rigorous exercise program and I'm not interested in spending several hours every day in a gym. Absolutely not interested.

If I can get my diabetes under control (which I have) and get my weight down to where I can comfortably do the activities I enjoy...then that's my goal. Not a number on someone's chart or scale.

When I first started my journey, I thought I would be thrilled with 50% - 60%, now... not so much. I WANT IT ALL B)

I expect to lose almost all of my excess weight: I'm, 5'2" and want to get to 170, longer term goal 150 which is still bove average but I'd be very happy there. It doens't mean I'll stop there, but would be thrilled. But I expect this from myself, not just "from the band." I do realize thaat anythign the band helps me lose is a health improvement but I'm in this for life now...so can;t imagine not continuing with WL. In the past 5 weeks I'm a sixth of the way to my goal of 150!

And I'm right there with you Melody! I am not interested in the vigorous exercise but I'd love to be able to go on hikes with the family, so normal activities, fit in normal seats etc.

I have reached 100% of my goal, and am in maintenance, now. Surgeon wanted me to get to 150, I am 140 give or take 1-2 lbs. Now, he doesn't want me to get below 140. At 150 I was in the overweight stage, I wanted to be in the normal, too! Karen

If I went for the statistics, I'd be done after 9 more pounds, and I am still in the "obese" BMI range! I am aiming for the high end of "normal" BMI. Healthy and active. A different way of life, instead of a diet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
