Question about weight coming off?!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on April 22nd. Since then my doctor has been very pro-active with me and filling my band. I'm up to 6.25ccs. I'm not eating nearly as much now....but the weight isn't really coming off like I guess I expected it to. My starting weight was 254.5 and I’m at 230.5 now. I feel the difference in my clothes and people around say they can tell... I just feel like I'm not doing something right! I've been exercising regular....lots of walks and hikes every day. Is this a good weight to be at now? I know this is suppose to be slow and that's a good thing... just wanna see how other people are doing I guess. I'm eating exactly how my doctor says I should eat... I guess I just need to be patient

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Congrats! You're doing great.

You had surgery 12 weeks ago and are down 24 pounds. That is an average of 2 pounds a week.

Just keep on doing what you have been and you be close to goal in no time.

You're doing awesome! That's a loss of 2lbs a week, and you really can't ask for more. You can try increasing the intensity level of your exercise as well as using weights and mixing up your calories, that may help. But really, you're right on track!

Also remember that sometimes you'll lose inches and not weight. This has been happening to me a lot lately.

I am with you. I can't believe I'm not losing more. I had my surgery 5/4 and was then 245 (256 before the pre-op diet) and now I'm at 230. I am filled to 7.5 and eating very little. I'm having reflux at night so I will have a unfill on Monday when I see my doctor. I am at the gym 6 days a week. Zumba, strength training, etc. I can believe it's so slow.

I had them do a metabolic test on me and mine is slow. Well no surprise there. The doctor suggested adding flax seed and flax seed oil and strength training. All of which I've done. I eat fish and more fish. I am having 60 grams of Protein a day.

Morning-greek yogurt with flax seed (20)

lunch- fish (10)

dinner fish (10)

Finish eating by 6 then I have a shake (14) and a zone bar (14)

I follow all the rules and stop eating and drinking by 8:00

Any thoughts out there.

I think you're doing great! I was;

314 on my consult day (Mar 30)

290 when banded (Apr 20)

266 last weigh in (Jul 14)

We were banded pretty much at the same time, and the nurses said my weight loss was wonderful. I guess I feel good in just knowing that on Mar 30th I was 314 and I'm now 266.

I'll take it! You'll take it! We'll ALL take it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
